When you relist an item for sale, it automatically posts it up as “good til canceled”.... meaning they charge you. They don’t give you the option to have a regular 30 day listing on the mobile app. You have to do it on desktop. Stop charging us and forcing us to use “good till canceled”. You have to read the small print before you relist the item... they won’t even let you change it.

Why has the choice of duration been removed...it’s still EBAY...the app is there to make listing faster NOT different from the website listing tool
ebay are forcing fees on people if they prefer to use the app....pretty outrageous and naff
There is zero excuse for this behaviour

Hey everyone!
I wrote a long email and showed them this post. I explained to them that this is NOT an isolated incident. I have someone from eBay who personally reached out but I missed their call last week at work. They should be calling me next week. Hopefully we can all get some sort of resolution to this nonsense. You’re right, mobile app should make it easier not more difficult.
Besides this whole “Good til canceled” thing.... how many people’s “buy it now” posts with “best offer” shut off... get changed to best offer on? I’ve had 2 posts turn best offer on out of nowhere.

You should not have to manually end the items after they sell. Do you have the out of stock option turned on? If you are selling a single quantity item and a customer purchases it, it should end.

I spoke with someone personally regarding this issue today. Not a representative either. Someone who actually works on the mobile team.
She did not talk to me like this was an isolated incident. She actually knew what I was talking about and has heard numerous complaints regarding this.
So, she explained....when posting with the mobile app it will automatically put the Buy It Now post as Good Til Cancelled. When it does that, it will not charge you a GTC fee. It's actually because ebay is testing out the GTC function and seeing if it will be better for sellers. I did tell her that I believe people still like the option of picking the duration. She was well aware that people have complained about not having a choice. Maybe after they are done getting feedback or testing the GTC that we will get the option again to choose the duration again. But we shouldnt be afraid if our posts are automatically put up as GTC as we will not be charged and should not be charged. It's only if WE manually have selected GTC that there would be a charge. I guess the only way to bypass GTC for now is to write the post and finish it on desktop. I am just glad we are not being charged fees for something else.
I received a phone call because I wrote a long email to the ebay IOS team. I will leave the email address, feel free to submit your complaints and feedback if you are disliking this testing/function.

Put your phone browser on Desktop View and visit your Seller Hub. Click on "Listings." Select all listings by ticking the upper left box by the word "Actions". Then under the "Edit" menu, click to edit all listings.
From that screen, select all your listings again and click the "Edit fields" menu. Select "Format and Duration." From there go to "Change to" and select the time you want ☺️

I think most people were concerned with the app functionality. They should come out with a feature that allows you to do that on the app so you don’t have to log into the browser.

One reason is to time the ending with high purchase days ( weekends, holidays ) listings for holiday items should end BEFORE the holiday with time to arrive.
Another is buyers generally search for listings ending soonest. I sell more items with 10 day or less listings.
Also, I like to have control over items that do not sell after a couple of lisings. I can change the price..put on sale etc. Relisting automatically I lose tract of and have to cancel the listing instead of a simple change.

I am a veteran seller here on ebay and can agree with the others that this "till cancelled" thing is abhorrent. It is pretty obvious that they never though this one through. What eBay should be doing is looking for ways to make life easier for it's sellers as they are the true life blood of the company. Obviously without us, buyers couldn't buy and shareholders aren't happy. eBay community..... there is strength in numbers, make your heard through the proper channels, encourage other users to do likewise. Remember this; the day that we see injustices and cease to speak, is the day that we began to die. James S.
