Since the most recent update, the “find similar” feature when looking at items if no longer there. Anyone know how to make it come back?? It was very useful for comparing prices.

I was using eBay a few days ago and all of a sudden, the see similar tab disappeared. I can’t find anything online about it, other than sellers hated the tab because it allowed buyers to find the least expensive item. I called their help desk twice, and they knew nothing about it. I wish someone who knew something more about this would answer your post.

Please email eBay to let them know that you want the see similar tab returned: https://www.ebay.com/srv/survey/a/myebay.summary2

Is this on your mobile phone or computer? Do you have an Apple or android? This is happening on my iPhone 12 on the eBay mobile app. How about you?

I sent the request. Fingers crossed it works.

What device are you using? Mobile or computer? If mobile, do you have an android or iPhone? Just curious if it’s missing across all devices or specifically Apple products.

I bumped into this feature about a week ago. It was dangerously helpful for me. I have since spent more money on auctions than I like to admit. I too have emailed via the link to ask for its return although it could be my undoing.

I thought I was going mad! Only discovered this feature a couple of weeks ago and was finding it really helpful and it’s now disappeared with no info online about why.
Will submit the request as per the suggestion below.
I’m on the app on an iPhone 15

Is that the right link? That’s asking for feedback on the summary page specifically? Thanks

@frostidflake1922 are you referring to this feature with the three vertical dots that allows you to select "view similar active items" on an item shown in search?
If so, I'm currently seeing it in the latest version of the Android app as well as on desktop, but only in some browsers/instances, which may suggest eBay could either be doing A/B testing or a phased rollout and that could explain why you had seen it previously but are not seeing it now.
Currently on desktop I am seeing it in Chrome incognito, but not when logged in and in Firefox when logged in but not incognito.
Interestingly, it looks like eBay is pretty much just doing a text based search for the title of whatever the listing is and it does not appear they are using image recognition tech like they have with the search by image functionality or like they were attempting to use (with not great results) when previously testing adding a "find similar" button overlaid on listing images.
We can see that if you use this "find similar" option in search on an item with a more generic title, you get much more generic results that show the feature is not likely trying to match for visual similarity (or if it is, it's still not returning great results.)
I'll have to play around with it more, but this suggests buyers may be able to easily get pretty much the same results by copying and pasting the title of a listing they are interested in into the search bar themselves - which may be a possible workaround if this is the feature you are talking about and it is no longer showing the vertical dots for you to access it directly.
@mcdougle4248 @wastingtime101 just tagging you in here in case you're interested since you were active in that older thread about "find similar" on item pages.

Thank you for the tag. I was kicked off the test board for being a "bad girl", so I appreciate you looping me in on this thread.
I am seeing it using the Android app and both on Chrome and Firefox when not signed in (incognito) but not when signed in using Chrome and Firefox.
I like this better than the previous test I saw where the "find similar" button was overlaid on the listing photo.

You're welcome @mcdougle4248 and I agree, I like the idea of this appearing in search much better than on individual listing pages, especially compared to the previous photo overlay test.

For me it is the ‘find similar’ image based search I was trying to find. Can understand why it might not be a favourite of sellers but for a collector like me (of vintage compacts) most of what I’m looking at are more one-off listings so it was super helpful to find other examples which I wouldn’t have known how to find otherwise. It actually meant I bought more as I found more compacts I liked based on them being visually similar (ish).

@sandy98uk I can definitely see how that find similar image based search could be useful for more unique or one-off listings like you describe where you are looking for something similar but you may not have known what words to use in search to find them otherwise.
I haven't seen that "find visually similar" option on the listing page for several months now but with all of these things, eBay may be running various tests or only making certain features available to certain users or in certain categories etc.
