Ebay Background Removal Tool IOS

I just watched a Ralli Roots youtube video where they show the ebay background removal tool being used. I looked on my iphone ebay app, which is updated, and found no options. Nothing on desktop either. Where is it?

I saw that too. I downloaded the eBay app and tried a listing. The removal tool shows up when you go to list an item then upload your pics at the "listing summary" part of the app.

tap the + to add pic

Once uploaded, tap on the pic

The pic will have 5 different icons left to right at the bottom (change pic orientation, brighten, crop, remove background, delete)

Tap on the 4th icon to remove background.

The app will ask you to frame your pic (each time I've done this, it was already framed well enough). Once you have done this, tap "continue" up in the upper RT hand corner.

This will remove your background. I'm fairly impressed with it so far. If it takes too much away, there's a brush to put areas back. And if it leaves some background, there's an eraser to fix that. Plus the handy "undo" fix if you accidentally erase your item.

In the same boat here. Wondering if you need to have the new iOS or a newer iPhone. I’ve got an iPhone 6, app is fully updated and the remove background tool is nowhere to be seen. 

Would appreciate help!

Yes I am on an Iphone 6 Plus myself and still do not see it. I am running IOS 12.4.5 which my phone states is the most recent update. I cannot find a story or anything about this new feature besides that youtube video. I was hoping I could see what iphones it was compatible with. Did ebay not say anything about it? Seems like it should be bigger news than that.

Thanks for posting about the new background removal tool. To use this you will need to be on the latest version of the app 5.40.0. All customers who are on iOS devices with iOS 12 and higher should be able to install 5.40.0.

Hmmmm wish I could share photos on here! But I’ve got all of those things and it still doesn’t pop up as an option! 😔

As the other user with the iPhone 6 stated, I do not have the option either. We are both running IOS 12.4 and whatever the newest eBay update is as well. When photos are opened, I only see 4 options to edit the photo, not the missing 5th one, which is the tool. Is there maybe something that can be fixed on your end or is that not actually going to be available to us?

The tool should now be available to all customers on the latest ebay app version 5.40.0. Please check that you have the latest update. You could also try force quitting and re-opening the app to see if that enables the feature.

I will delete and redownload and see if that helps.

I’ve deleted the app and redownloaded it, and it still does not have the background option on uploaded photos. 😞

Thank you for trying these steps. After getting more details it turns out the feature is not available for iPhone 6 devices due to the amount of memory the phone has.

Any plans to release this for Android users? And why were we excluded anyway? Confused why it was only developed for iPhones when there's the same Ebay app for both platforms.
