Can't log on to eBay app via android. Invalid Request error.

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy J3, which i have just purchased to use as a phone specific to eBay.  The thing is, I can download the app from google play store but every time I try to login it says "invalid request"

I have tried using both email and user name with my password. I get the same error.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I get the same error.

I have followed the steps on the ebay help forum, clearing data and cache of google play services. Clearing data and cache of google play store.  I still get the same error.

The android version my phone is using is 5.1.1

The model number of the phone is SM-J320FN.

Please advise how to get the app working, I have bought the phone especially so I can sell with ease via the eBay app.

I can log on fine using the ebay.co.uk site on the phone.

That;s your problem right there. You need a newer version of Android. If your phone wouldn't take a newer version, you'll have to get a newer one.  The current Android version is 11.

Although you cannot use the latest version with Android 5.1.1, you should still be able to use a version of the eBay app.
