How shortsighted are they, why change. Members are leaving to buy and sell on another site, I will have to join them unfortunately, there is nothing wrong with my iPad.

You can access the desktop site on your iPad if your browser is compatible. No reason to use the buggy Ebay app.
Your iPad will cease working for more sites, assuming the apps you use to access them are actively supported.
This is a warning sign your iPad is getting too old.
It hits some Ebay members hard because they run older equipment for financial reasons, You need to plan for replacement, whether you continue to use Ebay or not.

What kind of alert are you getting? I access eBay on a 2011 tablet with no problem.

This is due to an annual increase in system activity experienced during this period, which has caused processing delays.

Hi @normal20002013 . As you're in the UK, see below.
For iOS 16 or later and Android 10 or later, follow the instructions here: How to update your eBay app
For older systems running iOS 15 or Android 9 or earlier, you can access eBay from a web browser on your device. Delete the eBay app so links open in your browser instead of the app.

You can always access your eBay with the browser on your iPad.

It sounds like you are trying to access ebay thru their app, which they can put limitations on. If you go to your iPad's browser app and go to ebay's website, you should be able to access it any time as long as your browser is working with your iPad. I hate the app anyway and never use it.

Many companies are phasing out older devices. I just had to get another CPAP machine, partially due to the company phasing out their 3G connected devices and only using 5G devices by the end of the year.
