App suggestions for 2023

I’m sure some of these have been suggested internally and/or are being worked on now, but I just wanted to put these out online so maybe my wishes come true!

I’ve been with ebay since the early 2000’s, before an app was created, and it is (slowly) becoming a great app to use and changing my business for the better! We are at 98% app-only and at 99% smart phone use only. This has helped speed up every process, so the suggestions I have come from not only a seller’s standpoint, but also to improve the buying experience.

1) Most important and I’m sure you’ve heard many times before - an “item location” and an “item cost” option with each listing. The option to allow me to put where my item is located in the warehouse (is: Bin 12, Shelf A, etc) and that I can see on the “order details” page when sold would be amazing. Along with knowing how much I paid for the item would make the app and mobile both at 99.9% usage for us (still have to deal with those clunky promotions through the desktop!)

2) Removing the task of having the buyer click on a hyperlink to “see more description” and to just have the description on the main page. I’m guessing this was initially done to spare bandwidth costs, but the amount of problems/returns that occur because the buyer isn’t informed enough to click on the link to read more has to be a greater cost (it is for the seller).

3) When I lower the price of an item (not through a promotion), I wish it would notify the watchers that the item is now at a lower price, because the only way those watchers see a price drop is to send an offer (that would make the items even lower priced then I wanted) or to create a promotion (can’t do it through the app and promotions are very clunky and time consuming)

4) Have a simpler way to create a promotion through the app. The desktop way is beyond complicated, even if I just copy a previous sale and want to give a greater discount to some of the items. Being able to put each individual listing “on sale” at a specific percentage should be done through each listing, not through a “percentage off” database split into a database for each percentage. Right now, I have to create one promotion that has multiple database for each percentage off and I have to add or remove items from each database to change the percentage off. This is clunky but doable through the desktop, but the app should have the option be able to change the percentage off for each item listing WITHIN each listing after a promotion is created.
