When I tried to update the app the other day it didn't work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it won't download and I get an error 505. I'm on a Pixel XL. Is this a known issue?
Thanks

Same here! On my Pixel 2 XL.
I keep getting error 505 trying to update at first. But I uninstalled it, then tried to reinstall it.

Same problem here on a Galaxy S7 Active, and as for others replying so far, all the things recommended to solve an error 505 didn't work

Thanks for the reports. Please clear your play store cache and it should clear up the issue.

I'm getting exact same thing on my Moto Z Play. I just updated to Oreo and I couldn't update or reinstall eBay app. I cleared cache on all 3 Google Play files, rebooted phone, etc... This is the only app that's failing so this has to be on Ebays Dev side.

I have tried all of those steps and also went as far as trying to download it from web page still get the same error. Will this be corrected soon.

Same problem here, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Android 6.0.1, 5+GB free, no apps sideloaded to SD card. Followed all the instructions on the Dr. Fone site link given. Even rolled Google Play back to factory version and let it update again. Rebooted phone several times. Made the mistake of uninstalling eBay, got same error trying to re-install. Had to find an older APK version of eBay and manually install. Not any problems at all with any other apps. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to the various models affected. My daughter has a Galaxy S7 and she can install eBay fine. The only models I have not noticed which are not affected by this kind of issue (please point out if I'm mistaken) are Apple products.
Since the Dr. Fone link instructions have been repeatedly debunked as a "solution" to this problem, eBay has gone silent on the issue. No word from them since May 29th. This is obviously an eBay issue and they feel quite content not publically addressing the issue anymore. Hopefully they are working with Google so that they stop the mutual finger pointing game.
Does anyone know if we can download the current eBay APK and install it manually? I'd try it but I feel like I've been eBay's guinea pig enough already.
