Android app needs to update but no update available

Hello,

I was notified of a seller's offer and when I tried to review it, the app informed me I needed to update the app to review the offer.

I went straight to the Play store but no update was available.

I had to use a mobile browser to view the offer and complete the purchase

My eBay app version is 6.115.0.2

Does anyone have an idea what's going on?

Is your phone's OS up to date? What phone are you using? With some older phones you can only upgrade the app so far before the newer versions are no longer compatible. If you can rule that out as a problem, then I suggest deleting the app, turning off your phone, then doing a fresh install when you turn your phone back on.

The latest Android version of the eBay app is 6.168.0.1.

Make sure you have the latest version of Google Play Services and Google Play Store. Older versions may prevent you from getting the latest version of the eBay app.

My phone is old and your comment

is most likely the issue. You've reminded me of the same issue I had last year with another app.

Thank you for your reply and with the current app version number. It helped find the probable cause - my old phone  can only be upgradeed so far before the newer versions are no longer compatible.
