Adding a video on the app?

Adding a video to a listing is talked about allot and I can add it on my desktop listing tool but it is still not on the android phone app.... It was there last year but then it was gone and never came back ( same as the visual search)  I just manually updated my ebay app on the phone and still nothing- any thoughts?

Re: Adding a video on the app?

Hi, did you ever get this working? I am assuming they just haven't rolled it out to the app yet but wanted to be sure.

Still is not part of the Android eBay phone app.... Still have not heard anything from eBay in any official capacity.

+1 This is a seriously needed feature for Android users.

Re: Adding a video on the app?

I just added a video to a listing for the first time. I haven’t published the draft yet. Should I assume that it will not be viewable on the app, but it will on the desktop version of eBay?

Re: Adding a video on the app?

@gizmo_nerd   No- it will be viewable on all devices- the problem is that you cannot upload videos to the listing from a phone.....which should be naturally the easiest thing to do- ebay claims that mobile is the "cat's meow" and that everyone is using mobile to list with so it makes no sense to not make this feature available after all these years.

Right now to get a video uploaded you must being creating the listing on a desktop, take the video with your phone, save the video and email it to yourself, then open and save to desktop, then add video to listing.

Pretty much discourages adding a video.

Re: Adding a video on the app?

@siamjane8 You can use app called Feem or Feem 2018 for easy transfer files from phone to PC and back via WiFi. Just FYI I also have this feature adding the video from Android app, but today realized that it's gone 😞

Re: Adding a video on the app?

Etsy sure has no problem putting videos in listings from phones. eBay is falling behind!!!!

Re: Adding a video on the app?

I figured it out, you need to turn off your app on the phone , even turn off or Don't allow app to open links in settings. This will allow you to use your phone in browser mode, open ebay (not the app) , click on the draft your working on, add images and video, done

Re: Adding a video on the app?

@genuinestone I appreciate the idea but running the full webpage on a phone is not really a solution although it would work for sure. (just tiny and inconvenient)- might as well use a computer then.  The point is that in this day and age it is so bizarre that ebay does not have simple video upload support in the app.  They act like mobile is the only way forward but the app is 15 years behind everyone else.  Why doesnt ebay work on featuresthat would actually be functionally beneficial for users INSTEAD of all the silly design page changes that nobody wants and end up breaking what does work?

Re: Adding a video on the app?

Even worse than not being able to add videos on the phone app is the fact that once you create a listing with video on a desktop, if you then use the app and select "sell similar" on the listing with video during the new listing creation you can't see the video and can't delete the video. But the video is there once the listing is posted. You can only delete the video on a desktop. And if you forget to go back and delete it on a desktop it can cause confusion for buyers who see an unrelated video in a listing. Stupid that this hasn't been fixed!
