The app automatically updated and is now unusable. I can't bid on anything and I can't pay for anything. I tested these functions on a computer and that works fine do it is just the app. Can I get the old version back?

What is the version number of the app you are using?
Have you tried signing out and signing back in? Or clearing your cache and data?
Or uninstalling, restarting your device, and re-installing from the Google Play Store?

Yes I have done all of that and it made no difference at all. I contacted the techs and they asked for a video of what it was doing or in this case not doing. I sent that so hopefully they can fix it.

Contact the techs for the app and tell them what is happening. The more info they have the better it will be for them.

I am still able to bid using version 6.9.6.3 of the eBay app for Android -- apparently my version has not been updated to the newest version yet. I do not know if it is possible to easily downgrade the eBay app, though.
If you are unable to place a bid using the eBay app, you should still be able to bid using a mobile browser on your phone.
If eBay browser links are opening in the eBay app, on an Android device you can disable that feature by going to your device settings:
Settings: Apps: eBay: Open By Default: Open supported links
From there, choose "Don't open in this app".

I'm having the same issue. I can search for items and save them. But I can't bid on items. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times and I've signed out and signed in multiple times. No change, still can't bid. I can bid on the desktop version but not the app. If anyone from the development team can contact me that would be great.
