Ensuring your listings have completed required and recommended item specifics is essential to improve ranking in search results both on eBay and external search engines. That’s because the more data you give us about what you’re selling, the better we can match your item to what a buyer is looking for. To help you do this, we’re launching some new features and tools that will help you optimize your listings and comply with our item specifics requirements.
You can read more about this change here, and leave any questions below so our experts can review.

General question...........on IS that have no suggestions......such as MPN on vintage things......should we "fill in" the box with "does not apply" or can we just leave it blank?

@dhbookds Depending on the category you list in, the types of items specifics required will be different. For example, collectibles toys, I don't get the option to complete the MPN even in the "recommended" list of item specifics.
Except for "Required" item specifics leave the others blank if you do not know the info.
Thanks for selling on eBay.

I was just told by one of your marketing agents calling to talk to me that the Item Specific changes were not part of the Fall Update.... Why should I spend time talking to eBay staff if they don't even know what is included in the update?

@dtexley3 Since I wasn't on the call I don't have the full context, but have passed on your feedback to the supervisor of the team. If you asked about Item Specific changes and were told we were not making any, then there is an opportunity for the agent to improve.
Thanks for the feedback and if you have any questions I can answer about item specifics let me know.
