Electronic Gold Tester?

I have punch of jewelry that look lke solid gold but unmarked and I need to buy a reliable electronic gold tester. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I don't prefer the acid tests , I have acid kit but I am not comfortable using it. I saw previous posts about the same inquiry but can't find any solid answer. Those who are familiar with elecrtonic gold tester, please help me! Thanks

Re: Electronic Gold Tester?

My jeweler has a GT-3000. I'm going to switch from my oracle to this machine. Mine is ok but it doesn't really differentiate too much and is cobfusing when it comes to filled Plated it usually tells me right away that it's not solid. Hope this helps

Re: Electronic Gold Tester?

I'm not sure if the GT-3000 is still available but, the GT-4000 is around $350.00. I assume they are pretty similar because they use the same sensor.

OP,....May I ask why you do not like using acid test?
