Are the spectator/Nottingham and binocular bags the same bag?
I bought this one mainly to test my skills in cleaning etc. It's in rough shape.
The under flap wants to fold down and not back. It may just be from the years of letting it fall forward but it has to be forced to want to fold back and looks odd.
It has less roundness at the top of the under flap than my binocular bag...a bit more straight.
The good thing is the spring lock clasp still works.

Thank you....so do I. I keep molding them so it looks better. Again, the bag was purchased me to try out my rehab skills so I'm not too worried about getting it perfect.

Style 9948 was called a Canterbury in 1994 when it was first introduced in 1994, and then re-named the Nottingham in 1995 but theyre the same bag. Both had a turnlock, not a springlock.
Canterbury, Fall 1994 catalog
Nottingham, Spring 1995 catalog
I cant read the creed or serial number in the bag with the springlock in your photo at all but thats a Binocular Bag style 9853. It was introduced in the Winter 1990 catalog and the most recent catalog picture I have is Fall 1993. A readable photo of the creed and number would help.

The only purse Coach called just Spectator with no other name and that wasnt a 2-tone version of a specifc style was style 9795 and didnt look anything like the other styles youre asking about.

I think youre trying to fold the top the wrong way.

Thanks...the pics I attached earlier are from the seller. It came that way. The bag has been most likely that way for years. It didn't want to go the other way naturally. So I washed it.
This is the bag now...I washed it and it is still drying. The creed patch also

I got this pic from vintagecoach...it shows a two-toned version. Mine is not that. So many variations. Nice bag.

Yours is just the standard Binocular, not a Spectator version. Spectator versions usually have style numbers 3000 lower than the standard version, depending on the time period. The creed is correct for the style and time period. I hope the top panels fit better once they dry.

If you mean you are using this website http://vintagecoachbags.com/index.php/authenticity-guide/ That is the one that has misinformation in its "authenticity" guide.
Why is no one understanding that these random COACH authenticity guides are garbage??
The experts all recommend and follow the "Salerea" guides.
That site sells what they claim are authentic Coach bags they dont even show a photo of the creed.

I think the website refered to seemed like it was connected to the person who sent you the photo since the names are very similar. The guide that he uses are also posted on that vintagecoachbags dot com site. Theyre the same guide and the names are very similar so things got confused through the outdated guide that was mentioned in another post, this one:
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Fashion/Need-a-coach-purse-authentication/td-p/30631227
Ill see if I can resolve the confusion.

No it's fine. I appreciate your help. I was worried that the bag was in question...but then again, I'm not going to sell it.
Thank you

The first round of conditioner. The bag was so dry and hard to mold. It's much better. Thanks
