Have had this in a box myself for 20 years. Found it at my mom's house. It looks like it was never used. It's a long, black wallet with a checkbook holder space inside. It has a 'bumpy' texture on the exterior.
Thanks for you help.

Can't authenticate but appears to be genuine from that funky GUCCI 1970s/1980s period. For informational purposes only, here is the same wallet in a different colorway.

Any numbers on the inside of any of the inner pockets?
the leather looks to be ostrich, but I cant tell from those photos if it is embossed cow hyde or actual ostrich.

I agree with @mupcycledcouture - the wallets from that period (as @debora_34_ stated) were returned moreso than the handbags.

Ostrich was big in 1960 so it's certainly vintage.

These ebay community replies were extraordinarily helpful. I was able to continue the research and, from that research, was able to find the serial number in the wallet. It's very difficult to see due to the 'bumpy' black leather.
I contacted Gucci and they do not authenticate the serial numbers.
Thank you all so much!
