Hey.
So, there is obvious price gouging going on and there doesn't seem to be a proper way to report the item as Ebay's help direction simply states to put 'Price Gouging' in the report field and its not even an option.
Its very clear that every single 30 series graphics card that is listed on ebay right now is in violation of ebay's policy. We are talking about $700 dollar graphic cards being bought up everywhere from authorized sellers and being sold on ebay at $1,200 to $1,500 range.... its more than a 50% mark up and since ebay doesn't have a proper report for these people are just buying out actual inventories to resell on ebay.
The 3090 cards that are $1,500 are going at $2,000+.....
Anyway to properly start reporting this as there doesn't seem to be a way to get in contact with anyone who can do anything about this....

I doubt ebay cares since they're luxury items (i.e. not essential goods)

Price gouging is only for “essential “ items in times of crisis....
food, gas, and with Covid we saw TP and hand sanitizers.

Sorry, but nothing is new here. I remember a neighbor who worked at Target and bought his limit of PS2 consoles and sold them for $500 a pop. I think they retailed for $199. Nice tidy little profit for someone quick on their feet and willing to take the risk.
If you wanted one at retail, perhaps you should have pre-ordered at your local electronics shop or just wait for the new release rush to end and pick-up one then.

You have the choice of buying or NOT buying.
Move along now !

it still doesn't make this practice right and it should be illegal
11-15-2020 12:06 AM
it should be illegal end of story

i won't buy but to allow scalpers to have multiple purchases is wrong and I was online every time recently for the 3080 graphics card and ps5 console yet didn't get one bc the scalpers run bots... this should be illegal period how are you defending people buying out an item they never are going to use and scalping it for double or triple the retail price ?

Ecommerce.

That’s a narrow minded view, some parents worked hard all year to save money to buy their children the console they wanted and have found themselves at the mercy of scalpers and paying over the odds. So your post should be altered to “get shafted or disappoint your children. Move along now.”

Jonny, my Boy: If that console was necessary then people would agree with you.

The problem is just not here the online store are doing the same thing. But thing I get kick out of is the Used video cards that are like 2, 3 , 4 or 5 years old. That are way out of price. The things is most of the people selling these high price cards are new to eBay. With "0" or "1" ratings.
Here is a example: I bought a Color Power back in Dec. for $140. But what is going on with the high prices I could sell that card now for like $350 to $400. Plus nobody can give you a real straight answer for the prices going up.
But eBay really isn't going to do nothing about because it puts more money into they pockets. Is there any real rules here how much you sell some thing. Like the old saying goes. There is a sucker born every day. You will get people to buy stuff at high prices no matter what the price is!!!

As a seller who has sold a couple of hefty priced cards yourself?
01-27-2021 07:24 AM
No I haven't I don't price gouge. At one time years ago I use to sell a lot review computer stuff. I always sold stuff under price. Plus there really no shortest on video cards. You can go to like Newegg and buy 20 of these. XFX Radeon RX 580 8gb. All it is everybody is jumping on the Band Wagon to rip people off.

Is somebody forcing these people to buy? Hardly...
