I have time on my hands too but find my ADD and pain slows me down and my cognitive thinking is just not what it use to be.

I'm having problems with getting my clothing listed since I have to write out so much for descriptions. The clothing is unique and not the standard sizes. It takes me so long and then after 1 or 2 listing my back is hurting and I just get stressed. I don't have a laptop and not the best chair so sitting long is difficult. I can't afford a store but would love to beable to do my listings away from the computer and then put them on all at once.

I did sign up for activia but only the month trial and haven't even gotten into that yet. Seems Ebay has so many different tools to help but I can't afford any of them. Would you look at my listings and give me some honest FB? I'm just having a difficult time and so much inventory and should be selling to help with finances.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. That is, if you feel up to it...:-) and thanks so much for offering. You must be a generous person like the rest of them on this board..

Oh that's so great we have another person to learn skills from ... I sure know what you mean about time on your hands ... I have lots of that too. 

What do you do Jim to keep busy ... I read, listen to music, journal, chat here and on Facebook ... walk three days a week with a friend and meditate with another friend two days a week.  I don't watch TV as we don't have cable ... we dropped it about a year ago ... life is good without it.

Meant to ask you in the Kids thread ... how old is your daughter now?

I would suggest you use activa ASAP. Take the time and make a nice listing via Auctiva, save the listing. Use that listing for all of your listings, just change the important information and pictures each time. I have it down to where I can list a new item every 3-6 minutes if the pictures are ready.

I looked at your listings, your pictures are nice, but keywords are very important on eBay......add "womens", "shirt", and "blouse" to your current listings titles.

The more words you use to describe your item, the more views it will get. Use words that you would use to search for that item on eBay. Always add "womens", "mens", "boys", etc. to your title, and use different words for each item, such as "pants/slacks/jeans/capri" for a listing for a pair of pants, or "shoes/sneakers/hightops-tennis/running/walking" for a pair of shoes.

Most important though.....you need to be comfortable when you do eBay, or you will hate doing it. Whatever it takes......new chair, wireless keyboard, cushions, laptop, etc. The best thing that helped me was getting an office chair where I could adjust the armrests. I have the armrest height the same height as my keyboard, it makes it so I do not have to hold my arms up when I type. I also put a pillow behind my head so I do not have to hold my head up for long periods.

My daughter is 17 now. She just had a baby the 18th of last month.......luckily, she graduated 1 year early from school. She is real smart.....but real dumb, lol.

She lives at home......I am babysitting now. 😛

I could just kick myself and the meds I'm on for messing up big time!!! I just went to my selling manager page and found I sent a customer the wrong item. After talking to Ebay support, did I find that out!!!

  The item I pictured as a size medium is not what she got and she received it on 9/13.. Bless her heart for not filing on me.

I wrote her and told her I'd pay for her return shipping plus money for her time and send her the correct item or if anything I'll just let her keep the one I sent her and send the other one free of charge.

I just knew with my lack of focusing, I'd mess up and I really did. Darn... Anyone have any words for my screw up???  Maybe I'm too disabled to sell. Am really feeling down!!! 😞

First off ... tell your self I am adequate in the things I do and I approve of myself.  Then chalk it up as a learning experience.  Do NOT beat yourself up over this. 

I just had seven listings end today and nothing sold so I am feeling kind of down myself ... feeling like an ebay seller failure.  But I keep telling myself those words ... I am adequate in the things I do and I approve of myself. 

Don't let it drag you down ... your did well to offer to pay return postage ... a lot of sellers aren't that considerate ... so you did a good thing amidst an error.  It will all work out.

And you are NOT too disabled to be seller ... it just takes time, trial and error and lots of practice.  You CAN do this ...

Now I am going to go practice what I preach ... keep a positive outlook.

Aww Jim ... how nice that you babysit for your daughter.  How old is the baby ... boy or girl?  Isn't being a grandparent just the best thing in the world.  I have two grandsons ... 2 and 1 1/2 ... they can turn my darkest day bright ... I love my grandma time.

 Kate- You're always so soothing in your wording. I'm trying to not beat myself up but it's frustrating. The weather in Iowa is so damp and now it's getting cold, windy and damp. My fibro and osteo have me limited to what I can do and grouchy.

I've somehow mixed up two orders before the buyers were very nice about it, I did give them extras to make it up.

I had someone buy an item and when we went to pull it from stock it was gone. I had to of had it I took the picture, just poof.... I hate when stuff walks away you know what I mean?  X-(

If Auctiva is too stressful for you, I can make you some listings through Auctiva, then all you have to do is add pictures and descriptions.......

Thank you for your offer to help me with Auctivia. Clothing is a hard thing to sell when you have to write descriptions and measurements. I have so much inventory and so much to list. I find myself stressing and yelling at my husband because I don't have time for selling and taking care of house duties. He's good about it and helps out around the house some but doesn't want to get involved in the Ebay so I'm on my own.

I take narcotic pain meds. and will need them the rest of my life. I'm sure that's what's giving me some of my brain fog aside from the fibro. and depression and ADD. I'm kinda a mess and I want to straighten out and find some solitude.

I need a friend to come help me organize but everyone is busy and has their own lives. But.. we need the money so I'm determined...

Maybe someday I could come down for a day to help you get the balls rolling. I am needed at home daily to babysit my grandson now, but maybe after the new year.........
