Re: October Chatfest

Kate what is the surgery?

Been going thru some hard days here lately. They are hauling me to the Rehab this morning. Should only be a day visit. They are going to fill me up with Hi-Test gasoline. Anyone remember that?

Be back later or in the morning, nice to see more posting now that it is the fall.

Re: October Chatfest

Well they did not keep me at the Rehab center thankfully. Much better being home here with my wife and wildlife friends out back.

They had apples in WalMart from Oregon here this week. My wife got a bag they are good ones.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday,

Re: October Chatfest

You should be looking for apples from Washington ... Wenatchee apples are especially good and sweet.  And the granny smiths are magnificent for pies.

Glad they didn't keep you there DWB ... home is so much better.

Glad you didn't get stuck at rehab DWB. My Sunday has been quiet...until Jeff Gordon won!

Finally got a picture of Little G. Yup, I named her. And now I'm feeding her morning and evening. I've got to get more pictures and get the word out. She is such a tiny doll...so friendly and chatty.little girl kitty 002.jpg

What a cute kitty ... my cat Sophie is half calico ... such a nice breed.  Nice of you to be taking care of her.

She is driving me crazy. She is so cute, so friendly, so loving, and so vocal! We talk to each other all the time. She listens too! Today when I got home and was at the back door she plopped herself down, rolled over on her back, gave me her belly and was purring like a motorboat. I so want to bring her inside but it just wouldn't be fair to Gutsy Girl or Mr. Magoo.

I am going to take some more pictures and try to get someone to adopt her through Facebook posts.

Re: October Chatfest

Good luck in finding her a home Soloinar.  In the meantime enjoy her while she's around.  She likes you if she is exposing her belly.

Good morning ... brrr, it's cold here this morning.  Only 32* now ...

Started pain management group last night ... will meet for a total of 8 weeks ... every Monday night.  Hope they can help me find good tools to use against chronic pain.

Going to bake banana bread today.  Mmmm.

Re: October Chatfest

Seems like Little G has wrapped herself right around your heart. They are so good at it aren't they.

There's a cat out back on the golf course who I named Misty. She is out there every morning. She is in the same position as Little G. Misty is on top of the ladies Tee looking all around at first light. The ground is all misty except where she has walked making those first footprints in the snow. (the mist)

I call the ladies tee Mount Misty. She a wild cat and will run if you go near her. There are a lot of them out back here.

Lots of luck finding a home for Little G.

Today has been a rainy day but definitely not gloomy. Little G really wanted to come inside...so much so that she managed to climb to the top of the front door screen door. We heard the noise and I opened the curtain to see what was what. She looked like one of those suction cup cats you see on car windows. I couldn't stop laughing. Mr. Magoo and Gutsy Girl were looking up at her as if to say "how crazy are you?"

Yes, she has made her way into my heart. I will miss her when she's gone.

Re: October Chatfest

It is a rainy day here ... had my pre-op appointment yesterday ... a walk in the park really.  Just a simple exam.  No big deal.

Working on collages ... going to try selling them ... have one listed now and sure hope it sells.  Here is the link so you can take a look at what I have created ... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310781363874&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT#ht_642wt_884

Opinions, thoughts or ideas are much appreciated.

I love it! You have given me an idea for some of the duplicates of my comic books.

My one suggestion is a picture of the back of the frame. Is it a hang only or does it have the piece that allows it to stand up? I know people who like to arrange their Christmas cards on mantels, pianos, etc. and knowing how yours displays would be helpful.

Good luck with the surgery and with the new product. It's a fabulous idea!

Re: October Chatfest

Nice to read your surgery is not a serious issue. Been worried about ya.

Its fun to go thru the challenges of selling here on Ebay. At the end of the month we call it "lunch money" that comes in from our store. We try to get enough for Liz to make here monthly trip to Sams club. We fill the freezer up with stuff.

Lady next door called yesterday. She wanted to know if I was outside whistling with birds. I was in here and told her that. As it turned out there were a lot of birds all in the bushes and trees between our homes whistling and singing away. Got myself out back and began to whistle at them. Most of them moved to the bushes all around me and trees right nearby.

What an amazing feeling this was to realize the birds were actually looking for me

Re: October Chatfest

Thanks for your kind words and your suggestion Soloinar ... this is my first effort ... I have made collages for our use here ... did actually sell two of them at our garage sale.

Yes the surgery should be easy ... it's to remove a parathyroid gland in my neck.  A little risky and of course there will be an incision scar on the front of my neck.  I have a couple of beautiful silk scarves that I will wear for a while.  It's all good.
