Old postcards sell real well Kate. We bought some at an auction one time nearby. They sold like crazy. Just a few did not. Easy to mail out too. We used pieces of cereal boxes and other boxes to keep the post office from folding them into a wad before delivery.
As for the wording Jen is there anyone worse than me? And the spell checking things go nuts every other word. Been finding out the less wordy the descriptions are the better they seem to look with a handheld phone. Did you ever look at your items with your cell phone?
Gotta go the birds are looking for me,

We woke up this morning to water all over the bathroom floor ... the toilet is leaking. We are renters so will be calling the property managers to get this fixed asap.
In for a stretch of nice sunny fall weather. The colors are breathtaking ... such a beautiful time of year.

Sorry to hear about your mess. I've to deal with several of those over the last few years from the other end of the renter equation. I inherited a house in San Pedro Ca that has had no maintenance done for about 25 years or more.
Had to replace ALL of the electric wires and box last year, roof repairs, plumbing repairs, etc... Thankfully I have great renters who are willing to put up with an aging house at a good rent price. Kind of makes me sound like a slum loard but they want to buy the place some day. This year I will redo the floors, nothing fancy. I am so thankful that my parents left me their home so I know that I will have some $$ to take care of me in later years.
Hope you got your problem fixed fast.

I finally got some new listings up!
I was admiring my listings this morning that I finished yesterday only to realize that I had the WRONG pictures. UGH! Only two more lots of comics to go, thank goodness because they are a literal pain in the backside to list!
I hope when the day come to sell his whole collection we hire some to do it or go to a convention as dealers. Between the comics and all the other collectibles hubby has two whole bedrooms full PLUS the guest bedroom closet.
I always tell people that there are two reasons we never had children 1) I already have one 2) there is no room!
Hope you all had a good day, even it was a bit of a bumpy start.

Have you had much success selling the comics? I've got a small collection that I really want to get sold. I tried to contact people to see if I could sell them all at once but I didn't have any success. The comics I have are mostly Bronze age. They were given to my ex in exchange for some motorcycle parts. I keep putting off doing anything with them because I know very little about them.

Good morning all ... well, hopefully the property managers will get someone out to fix this leak today ... their offices are closed on Sunday so all I could do was leave a message.
Didn't have much luck garage saleing over the weekend ... did get a nice gold scarf that I can wear to hide the incision after surgery ... not that I am overly vain ... but an incision on the neck ... well, I would prefer to hide it when going out in public.
I think this will be a nice quiet day ... mayhaps I will do some baking or some reading. Or both. Just not sure what to do with my day.
Hope you all have a great Monday.

Have you tried searcing for the exact comic book or other item you want to evaluate? We do that often to get an idea what its worth.
Not sure about comic books. Maybe there is a comic book club near you?
Birds are migrating thru here now. What a show they put on. Sea birds, and the rest. They stop by overnight and leave at first light.
We put out lots of water for them. So they stop here every year.
How's the fall doing in other places?

soloinar:
I got a bid on the first lot of 4, oooo a whole $12. The books we're selling now are the junky ones.
It's all about condition and titles. If you have anything that you recongize as popular ie Spiderman, X-men, Superman etc... They are usually worth more. Some times a LOT more, you may have come out on the good end of that deal. Amazing Spiderman books can really bring high $. Plus even some of the odd ball titles, horror related etc can bring a fair amount.
About 20 years ago Keith sold about 5 file boxes full for $7 thousand, sounds not bad until we looked at a price guide just 2 years later and just ONE Amazing Spiderman book was going for $17 thousand in the condition we had
!
If you could tell me the names of the books and the issue number range I could give you a rough idea as the price does vary based on grade, just like any collectible condition is everything. This guide breaks it down pretty well on how guess at the grades. http://www.comicspriceguide.com/p-conditions.aspx
If there are books that may be worth a few hundred then it's worth having professionally graded and slabbed (cased in plastic) as that really ups the $$ amount in returns. Since stocks etc have been down there have more speculators buying slabbed comics as an investment.
A good portion of our retirment is in comics and toys, not planned that way but because hubby has been a comic nut since he was about 10 years old and is now 55 and still buying a few titles a month it just keeps piling up.
You may be sitting on untapped treasure

I have an Excel spreadsheet with the list of comic titles, year they were published, who the publisher is and what the condition is. I had purchased the Comic Book Price Guide and also the Guide on how to rate the comics. I even went to a small comic book convention in New Jersey before I moved. I ended up donating about 2000 comics to a Veteran's Hospice. They were not the Golden Age ones and there was no way I'd ever be able to sell them myself. I kept about 100 of the valuable ones. There's no way for me to attach an excel file so if you want to send me your regular email, I could do it that way. You can message me with it I sure do appreciate your help!

Good morning all ...
What a beautiful morning ... a little on the cool side but clear outside. Going to have another sunny fall day. Nice weather.
Hope you all do well with those comic books ... who would have known they could be worth so much.
Have a good day all ...

You can send the comic list to my tombtowntucson08@yahoo.com address. It's the public one I use for our Halloween haunted house. I tried to message you my other one in the contact but e-bay wouldn't let me.
I have a comic book price guide I can check too. It would be great if I could help you find some treasure!

Thanks! I will email you the list.
I got good news from the eye doctor today. Turns out my eye is healing after all. I was having a reaction to the steroid drops and since I stopped them, the eye is doing better. It's been very frustrating because I can't read. The eye with the cataract is 20/20 for distance but my current reading glasses aren't doing anything for the vision. Next week I get measured/fitted for new glasses. I can't wait!

That's great news! I'll keep an eye out for the e-mail. ( no pun intended :

O'h about 6 years ago I had eye surgery. The next day my eye was all swollen and a total mess. The doctor did a few things and off we went. It was Thanksgiving so it was "tood a loooo" and they closed up for the weekend.
It got worse and worse. We cancelled Thanksgiving everyone was afraid to come near me. When calling people to tell them it was cancelled I told them my new address was "Rear" (out back in a cardboard box)
A local medical center felt it was a reaction to steroid drops in the eye. Plus it had a major infection. To make a long story short once stopping the steroid drops the problem vanished.
Need to send mail to me put attention (out back) on the envelope.![]()
Hope it calms down,
DWB
