Community Updates Today

alan@ebay
eBay Staff (Alumni)

Good evening,

We pushed some updates to the Community platform today. Here's an overview of what changed.

  • Fixed issue with profile card not appearing in threads
  • Increased avatar size in threads
  • 'Popular Board Discussions' widget on right side of boards shows more recent content. Now displays popular content from last 30 days vs. all time.
  • Updated the podcast page with new URL and branding due to podcast name change
  • Removed 'eBay for Business' from the navigation menu under Seller News as the blog no longer produces content

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Community Updates Today

Just tagging @dhbookds and @scratch*post to make sure they see this update! They had both expressed some interest in it awhile back.

Thanks for all this

As a result of the push there seems to be a change unless it is a glitch but we cannot see the latest responder user ID on each of the posts any longer and the 1st post I know yesterday had the ebay logo as you & Tyler both added to this post

Re: Community Updates Today

Thanks for posting this.  I do find it useful to see the ID of the most recent poster, and the word "by" implies that the intent is to show it, so I hope this can be restored.

OTOH, the change to only show recent topics in the "Popular board discussions" box does seem to be working as intended.  I don't know why, but I find it extremely amusing to see that the top discussion is the discussion about popular discussions...

Thanks for raising this @labs118. It's most likely related to the updates yesterday, we'll get it fixed asap.

Re: Community Updates Today

Hi, Alan. I brought the issue up on yesterday's Chat about not being able to see poster IDs on the Seller Board threads. Then realized others have presented this problem here. Any way things like this can be somehow linked? meaning, if an issue is posted here, somehow it can be presented on the other Boards. Maybe... say I post an issue on this board, but can also indicate I want it also posted on the Seller Board? Like some kind of a CC process? Even today, some posters were asking about the no IDs on the Seller Board and a poster directed them to my comment and  yours on yesterday's chat. Just trying to streamline my life. Thanks.

Re: Community Updates Today

Hi @abfabvintage

Cool suggestion! Unfortunately, there isn't a way to do this currently. We also have guidelines in place regarding creating multiple topics, as users have abused this in the past to spam our boards.

Many thanks.
