Did you mean:

seller sent heavy item nothing to do with purchase

Seller sent an 18 pound differential in place of a torch set that of which I paid $118 for. Seller is supported by hosting search engine and busniss as listed above. I Was told to ship it back once they were sent proof with pictures of that item. They would not send a prepaid shipping label to me just a shipping label that I would have to pay $70 to ship. Went to the resolution center for help and they claim I recieved the item and after review closed my case. Full of it! I Was told if I did not want that item or wanted my money back to ship the item ( 18 pound differential) back with in a short period of time. No help from them! Be  aware buyer clients are not getting protection from hosting business which is the above selling institution.

Something went afoul, that's for sure. Did you open a Return request, and did you cite 'Not as Described' as your reason?

If so, the seller will provide a label... and doesn't need photos. It sounds like the statement by eBay, that "they claim you received the item" is in answer to an Item Not Received claim. Which did you open?

Wrong request. You received the item, just not the right one.

Re: seller sent heavy item nothing to do with purchase

I at this time I have a request to return the item but I did not have the chance to enter reason such as "not as described".  The first reason I entered for a refund or to return item i entered  "was not received" which may not have been the right choice, although it is true.  Now seller has sent a label but not prepaid. I have tried to contact both seller and resolution center about the cost to return item but not getting  anywhere.  Seller does not want to pay to ship it back.

@bogey5man

You don't need the Item Not Received claim anymore, so it doesn't matter that it is closed. If you haven't already done so, open a Return request, citing 'Doesn't match description or photos'. This will get you a prepaid label and/or a refund. (You are smart to NOT mark 'Changed my mind', as that means you'll pay return shipping.) Leave the Return open until your seller sends a label or it's time to escalate it to eBay.

Well, if they don't want it back and don't want to pay for it-Did you talk to the seller?

What cost more?  What you bought or what you have?

If they will not be helpful, you can always leave factual feedback like Ordered torch but received a
Differential.  Cannot Wait to Sell it!  That might get their attention.

had you paid with a credit card, you could file a charge back.

Re: seller sent heavy item nothing to do with purchase

This type of dishonesty, sadly, happens to both buyers and sellers. It is NOT just eBay, but most any online selling platform.

Unfortunately, I think it will get worse before it gets better with so many brick and mortar shops closed. The rats are coming out of the walls.

I'm so sorry that this is happening to you, but as you have already been so rightly directed, open a case as item not as described.

My hope is that you see it for what it is and know that there are very reputable people here.

With kindness,

Grandma

Re: seller sent heavy item nothing to do with purchase

Seller wanted me to keep item and pay another $70 on faith that they will send the original ordered item - the torches - their reply gave indications and literally said it was too exspensive to ship back and that they where out money too.  I can't gaurenty the item if I tried to sell and dealership has no interest. I said for them to sell the item then give the prepaid address label and I would send it out with a tracking number no problem just send me my item.  Did not work so going to try and do as mentioned and suggested open a new case as "not as described" Thanks for all the hep and replies  I will let you know how it works out- post again

If you have not picked the incorrect reason "Changed my mind" for your return yet @bogey5man click SHOW MORE, then select "Wrong item sent" from the full list of reasons:

Then if the seller clicks to accept your return, then stalls you with a you-pay return label, immediately contact eBay by sending a private message with your name, email, and zip code on Facebook here to explain that the seller sent a you-pay return label for the "Wrong item sent" case.

eBay will step in to require a prepaid return label, failing which eBay will force a refund no return needed.

Re: seller sent heavy item nothing to do with purchase

You opened the wrong type of dispute.  I recommend that all buyers & sellers review the terms of the MBG to be sure that they understand it before entering into any transactions on eBay.

The proper type of dispute would have been a not as described return request since you did receive something but not the something that you ordered.
