"You’ve reached a temporary buying restriction"

My account is kinda still new I already bid on many auction but won on only 2. Now I'm very confuse on why I can't bid anymore? It now say that I can only buy items where you can pay immediately at checkout. I contact ebay support and they say did I verfiy my paypal. I told them it is already link when I first created this account. Then they told me that is my paypal verfiy. I told them yes since 2013. Then they transfer my call to paypal and told me not to include ebay name in it and I say okay in confuse way. Very weird on that part.

Here what I talk about on ebay support in shortest way possible,

Me: Why I can't bid anymore? When can I bid again?

Ebay Support: you can add item to cart and buy
Me: Why I can't bid anymore?! When can I bid again? *with slightly higher tone kinda sound angry*
Ebay: Is your paypal account is link to ebay?
Me: Yes
Ebay: Try unlink it and relink it
Me: Already did twice

Ebay: Go to your account and unlink it
Me: I did say that I already did *almost angry but not angry yet*
Ebay: let me transfer you to ebay and don't mention ebay in it when you talk to paypal support

Did I talk to paypal? No because nothing is wrong with my paypal account since I used my same paypal account to send and transfer money on my gaming server provider.

My account is still kinda new. No refund was issues. No bid cancel was issues. Nothing bad happen to my account. All I want ebay to tell is me when can I bid again or what happen to my account on why I can't bid anymore? Was it bidder restriction because on new account? I was bidding fine before friday. I already won one auction before couldn't bid anymore. Confuse. Very confuse.

Are you sure you only won two? Check to be sure you don't have unpaid items. If you don't, then you have run up against the new buyer limits, which apply to both dollar amounts and number of transactions.

Try calling and speaking with a different ebay rep, who may be better able to assist you than the rep with whom you previously spoke.

I wonder how to remove the limited? I already miss out two of the item I was about to bid on already.

I'm doing that right now hoping everything is fix since I don't want to miss anything. Plus I'm building my computer so the only thing I want to get is from bidding.

UPDATE: They told me to buy since nothing can do on new account that is on buying restriction. So that is down side for PC builder like me wanted to build computer. They want me to buy something to remove the restriction? That is a horrible system.

Buying restrictions on new members for auctions are not uncommon. You can read more about buying restrictions here:

https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/buying-limits/buying-restrictions?id=4012

As another poster suggested, call eBay and see if you can find a rep that is able to help you. As long as any items you won are paid for, sometimes they will lift the limits if you go through an identity verification process.

How many listings did you bid on? If it was a lot that could be what triggered the restriction.

Edit- I'm not sure why that last post wasn't visible when I went to reply.

Do what the CS rep said and purchase a fixed price listing.

eBay puts these restrictions in place to prevent fraud.

You can't remove limits, but as time goes by and you develop a history of successfully completed transactions, your limits will increase.

That error message seems to be associated with running into your Open Transaction Limits. To get below your limits you need to pay for the outstanding unpaid items that now count towards your limits, but that might not be immediately possible because eBay counts items that you committed to buy but cannot pay for at this time against your limits:

1. Active auctions that you are the lead bidder on at present (including the one you are trying to bid on and it can take a little while after you are outbid before the server checking on whether you can bid knows that you are outbid); to minimize the effect of these wait until near the end of the auction to bid only one time at your TRUE maximum you are willing to pay for the item, and then pay immediately after it ends, to minimize the time it counts towards your limit. You can't pay until you win, so don't use up your open transactions on bids you can't pay for until hours or days later.

2. Transactions cancelled at your request (or due to problems with your address). Note that these also can result in lowering the limit, so make sure you are going to buy (and CAN buy, that the item ships to your location) BEFORE you commit to buying.

3. Unpaid Item Strikes. Again, don't bid/commit to buy unless you KNOW you can and will pay for every item.

To get these and other buying limits raised or removed you need to establish a pattern of reliably paying for what you commit to buy.

Still waiting since there is nothing I can do. The rep say all I can do is to buy any item to remove the restriction but that is the stupid way of doing it. I have no unpaid item, no bid cancel, and no refund issues. Right now, I don't have any bid anywhere at all. Still stuck here until I can bid again. They still won't tell me when I can bid again. They only tell me to add any item to cart and buy it. There is nothing that I want to buy. Nothing cheap to save money on good deal. No email saying why my account is restricted. I guess only new account is restricted but you won't know when you can bid again since no ebay rep has answer my question. I keep calling them saying, "When can I bid again?" I don't know why they keep dodging that question.

3 days has past and stuck here on what to do.

Your limits may reset at the beginning of next month.

You can't remove it. Everyone has limits, they just vary. With a new buyer, I think the limits may be 5 transactions or $500.00, whichever comes first, but that is just my speculation. Your limits may be very different. As you build up a history of successfully completed transactions, your limits will be raised.

Getting angry with customer service reps will not help your cause.

You will probably be able to bid again at the beginning of January.
