Hello!
WHY does ebay keep dumbing-down the UI? The new watchlist is a classic example. In the past, we were able to sort by "most recently added", "ending soonest" and other filters. I have 140 items and this time sort was very useful to me.
I use ebay to find unusual or hard to find items, or to find a better price. I am not going to browse through 140 items, by category, to find the item I saved a week ago for a project I was working on. Often I could watch an item and use the list as a placeholder for item specifics, model number, etc, and if I cant find a better price I will return a week later and buy it. That ability has been removed.
My only option besides wasting time looking through ebay everything is to save "watched" items locally, a pain but less time than browsing my entire watchlist.
OK, now I have to rant....again. Please excuse me.
The latest trends in web design make for a poor user experience on desktops and intelligent users. I really dislike the "modern" trend toward "simple" interfaces which many websites are adopting. I also really dislike the trend toward hiding everything. Designers attempt to make the pages are so "clean" they border on being useless. I like options, I want the details and I dislike hidden features I have to spend time to dig for....or not access them at all. Not all your users are computer newbies, and "modern" efforts to simplify user interfaces actually makes it more time consuming to use; more mouse clicks, more scrolling, etc, to find what you want. The new pages are devoid of color, boring layout, poor information density. We are not on graphics processors from 1980!
End rant.
Thank you
I
