Did you mean:

"Free Returns" Are Not Really Free

Twice I have had to return an item and it just so happened that the seller on both items had a 30 day return policy with seller paying.

I had to download a pre paid label, but, in both cases, I was given only a "partial" refund. So, it's not a free return.

If you did not have to pay for the return label then it was a free return.

If the seller did not refund your original payment then you must have made a remorse return where the seller is allowed to deduct the original shipping you paid, or if the item had free shipping then the seller must have deducted because you didn't  return it in the original condition.  If the item wasn't as described they have to refund in full.

Did they claim the item was not in same condition when returned?

Free returns only means buyer doesn't pay to return it.

It doesn't mean the seller can't deduct the original shipping the buyer paid from the refund.

Have a great day.

@fab_finds4u,

"...if the item had free shipping then the seller must have deducted because you didn't return it in the original condition".

Hopefully, the new seller protections that seem to be AI generated, do not allow a seller to say a New item they sent, was not in the same condition when it was returned because it has now been opened and possibly used before it was found to be defective. The chinese seller's would love that.

Hi @jodieblue57

Free 30 day returns means you do not pay for the return shipping.  That setting does not say 30 day free Returns and Full refund, there is a difference and depending on the situation Buyers either are or are not entitled to a full refund.

If you would be willing to share more details that would be helpful.
