Hi, I have started collecting vintage wristwatches. By reason of age many have defects and this is where the zoom facility is of great help. Most purchases are made from ebay USA and virtually all watches are american made.
I have thus far come across two established sellers who specialise in vintage watches. When I pull up a watch to view there is no zoom and whilst I can make out a few defects I am sure others would be apparent if only I could enlarge the image. I have messaged both sellers pointing out the lack of zoom and asking whether they in fact have any control over this. Both say it is nothing to do with them and must be Ebay.
Has anyone has a similar problem and is it known whether a seller can stipulate to ebay that the zoom facility is deleted on their sale items TIA. jack

The way eBay displays photos two photos can look exactly the same but be different resolutions. Ebay expands the photo to fill the space.

I'm assuming you're talking about the hover to zoom feature. If so, the sellers are totally wrong. The control is totally theirs. Zoom depends on the size of the original photo uploaded to eBay. The longest side of the photo has to be at least 800 pixels.

Since you are located in the U.K. bu have posted on (ebay.com) the U.S. based site's community, there could be a glitch happening on the U.K. site we are not aware of. Try posting your topic on your home site's community.

Many thanks kathiec, Every watch seems to be allocated a set size for display and the two sellers without zoom have the same size as everyone else.
Needless to say I shall not purchase from these two sellers. thanks again. jack

My items are posted in very large version yet they stopped being zoomable too. It isn't the seller's photo size that's the problem. It's an eBay problem -- a big one.

You've responded to a year-old thread. Things change. You should look for more recent threads talking about the current problem.
