Did you mean:

Wow I purchased something and never received it

I ordered something, I got the message that the Item had been delivered

I went and looked all around my porch, but nothing was there.

Then the seller sent me a tracking number

I clicked it, but the photo was not the front of my house

I called FedEx

FedEx guy said the Name and address on the tracking number was NOT my name and Address

So the tracking number did go to my town, but not to my address and not my name on the label

Today was the day to tell eBay

I got an email this morning that eBay sided with the seller, so the seller did NOT call FedEx and ask them anything.

and eBay's automated computer simply did the same.

That is simply Mail Fraud

I will appeal with a photo of the front of my house

The photo in the tracking number provided is a brick house, my house is NOT brick

Is this a common eBay scam now?

How can I get a Human to actually cal FedEx? When I appeal?

@billydurham,

Yes ebay's initial Item Not Received (INR) system is automated and tracking is checked by a computer that is only allowed to check the tracking information for a Delivered scan. If it sees one it denies the claim.

Trying to Appeal by sending a photo of your house will not work, since you cannot prove the photo you send is actually your house.  You need to prove that the address on the label was not your address. What you can try doing is to sign up for FedEx's Delivery Manager service. It is Free to do. Once you have done that enter the tracking number you received and the tracking history, label address and even package type/size/weight should show up on that page.

https://www.fedex.com/en-us/delivery-manager.html

When you appeal send a screen shot of the full page, If you buy using a phone make sure the URL address of the site is visible.  If the appeal is also turned down, which may happen. there is one last ebay option, and that is to use one of  ebay's social media site's (links below).  We know that those site's reps are actual ebay employees (not a 3rd party's phone or chat center's ones) They have to power to look over more info than other ones seem to have and can authorize refunds.  You can also add a link to the FedEx delivery manager page, something you cannot do on ebay's appeal.

Re: Wow I purchased something and never received it

This is very common and the scammers count on you opening the item not received claim. If ebay insists you received it file missing parts and pieces. Here's a thread from yesterdays victim

Re: Wow I purchased something and never received it

I won my appeal

I sent a Google Map link showing that the front of my house was different from the FexEx photo

eBay person said * I believe you. I was refunded.

I am unable to leave Negative feedback for the seller, so people could be leery of that seller

I look at the seller's ID and it seems very small to me, as I am a repeat buyer if I like something I buy. Now that the seller that did that looks very small in my eyes.

Now that experience has tainted all sellers in the seller's country even though I had no problems in the past.

Did you go the social media route? I ask, because links cannot be sent through ebay messages, which is the system the ebay Appeal messaging work on.  That info could be a great help to us when  advising people.

I meant to ask, what country is the seller located in?  According to your profile your last 2 feedback were from a seller located in Japan. If the seller you had the problem with is in China, that is where many of the issues we read about on these boards originate.

Re: Wow I purchased something and never received it

It was China

The cheapest bathroom faucet with a drain, when I found it on eBay search

I did not go on social media, I just appealed

Re: Wow I purchased something and never received it

@billydurham,

Thanks for the info, it may be a big help.  In the future I suggest not buying anything from China based sellers. Not only is there a higher possibility of running into the fake tracking scam, but the quality of their off/no brand named products is poor for the most part.  I'd rather pay a bit more and buy plumbing items from a local store, where being able to return or exchange items is a lot easier, and you can often get good advice from the clerks.

    Your not saving money if you end up having to replace the cheapest priced item, after ebay's 30 limit for filing a not as described dispute has passed.

Re: Wow I purchased something and never received it

I am amazed that they would cheat anyone, that country has a reputation if they think a citizen has tarnished that country's reputation in the slightest. Or it seems so from the TV News.

@billydurham,

My answer to that last question, would be Off topic and take up a lot of space.  If you scroll up the page and look in the upper right corner there will be a 1 in the envelope symbol. Open it to read the reply.

Re: Wow I purchased something and never received it

Also have Fed Ex send you an email with documentation that they delivered the package to the wrong address address and not yours. What eBay only looks at is the zip code. If it matches your zip code then you got it as far as their concerned.  It gives you options to have eBay call you. Then your speaking with a human. What a mess!

Re: Wow I purchased something and never received it

Update

I looked at other sellers (From that country)

I looked at the Feedback - They are doing that to other buyers, every so often they would give them a tracking number to a different buyer in the same town showing delivered (To a different buyer a completely different product) and cheat them.

I would think eBay will figure that out

Soooo, I bought from a small seller with 100 percent positive feedback in the same country I am 🙂

Re: Wow I purchased something and never received it

@billydurham,

Many sellers actually based in foreign countries are registered as being registered in the U.S..  Most of them use U.S. flag symbols, State U.S. Seller, Ships from U.S. ... on their listings, or have "us" in their username.

Open the link below and click on the Go to Best answer Button, to see how to identify sellers who are  actually based in, or drop ship from China or chinese owned warehouses.
