Why so many updates for a global shipping purchase? 6 in 8 hours?

Nothing serious here. Just curious as to why when you purchase an item that uses the global shipping, the updates keep coming, two every few hours. They don't say anything different - exact same "notification". Should one expect 20 emails a day until purchase arrival? 😉 

Clicked on the tracking to see if updating location might be the reason - thought maybe every location it moves through on its way out, it sends an email. Nope. Same place.

Last purchase, a seller told me "they don't ship globally", even though I got the item! What a goofy program.

Asked the chat, and the rep replies, "I see you want to cancel global shipping." Ha!

I think that some of that tracking was the idea of someone who as a kid sat in the back of the car on a road trip saying, 

 

"Are we there yet?"....

 

"Are we there yet?"...

 

" Where are we?" ...

 

" hey, are we there yet?"
