Honestly given how when you look up on google how to report scalping, or price gouging really, you can't report items as such through their report tool. Yet following their instructions shows you that they don't care, as there is no option at all to do so currently. Which means eBay is rife with all these scam posters and all these scalpers and gougers that are using bots. To buy entire stocks up and repost for double to triple the price on ebay, seriously they just don't care. Heck to me they shouldn't allow all the stupid preorder items that people have posted, given how easily you can scam people with that kind of sale.
I am so sick of companies not caring about consumers anymore, given they control the market on so many items, which means we have to look to them for them. With eBay fanning the flames by supporting all the price gouging you can see just by doing a simple search for an item.

The listing you shared doesn't even mention the release date which is likely true for a lot of presale items. I search presale and get 43,000+ results. So imagine how much manpower it would take to know the actual release dates of presale items of 43,000 + listings and remove any that violates policy. plus all the other policy violations that can be committed by sellers It's illogical. Do you expect police to catch every person speeding?

You didn't answer the thread starter's question, "Why is ebay supporting scalpers?". Your answer only legitimized the scalpers and ebay.
So why is ebay supporting the scalpers? Greed I guess, ebay can't resist such lucrative opportunities. Plus, consumers are willing to support such behavior, in part because the product is scarce among major retailers, who may or may not be doing all they can to stop mass buys. Software tweaking programs make it possible for bots or people to get around the measures put in place to stop it. Kind of like the evolution of an 'arms race'.
Also, the covid pandemic has affected everything from mining the raw materials, to chip manufacturing, other components and finally overseas shipping to ports.

How do define 'out of production' items? Permanently out of production or merely temporarily out of production?

Where do you get your stock from? Wholesalers that don't sell to consumers, or from major retailers ie - Macy's, and other similar.

rexx's question was asked from the point of view of a consumer, but got replies mostly from sellers.
