Wasting Time & Money

Ebay is becoming a waste of my time and money. Damaged, non working items, plants sent with bug infestation, poor packing, missing items are examples of  the joy I experienced on eBay. Recently I had a seller tell me that shipping is hard on the product and she can't control what happens in shipping and told me to escalate the case. I will as soon as I can. 😉 I'm sure it will go good for her. Lol.

Another thing that drives me crazy is sellers requiring signature confirmation on cheap items! I'm not at home all day and I don't want to drive to the post office to sign for it. Items under $750 do not need it, tracking is sufficient. I'm not recommending eBay to anyone anymore, I don't want a guilty conscience. I know eBay has excellent buyer protection but it's still annoying to deal with unprofessional sellers. If you are wondering...I don't have any questions, I just wanted to rant.

I realize that you needed to vent but I don't see anything in the feedback left by you that would indicate a lot of problems.  I see that you left one negative and that was over a month ago.  Unless you are not leaving negative feedback when it is appropriate.

And for many sellers, tracking is no longer sufficient to prove that the actual buyer received the item.  Although E-bay doesn't require it, as a seller, I would, most likely,  add signature confirmation to  any item that I sell that is over $400.00.  When a buyer spends that much money with me, I would want to know that the person who paid for the item, got the item.

And just to clarify, many sellers on E-bay are not professionals.

COYOTES RULE!!!

Yeah I've only left one negative and the seller emailed me numerous times offering me $10 to remove it. I ignored those emails, they were so annoying.

I normally don't leave feedback when I have problems. I know that negatives can have a effect on their sales so it's hard to leave one. I figure these sellers will either learn from their mistakes or go out business from paying for returns on cases they lose. Lol

Signing for a $400 item I could understand. However the items I have been signing for are all under $100. Crazy

Yeah my rant is lacking a bit. I calmed down some while tying it. I have a love hate relationship with eBay. Lol

I think that's pretty common with most eBay users.

Re: Wasting Time & Money

It is discouraging and frustrating to deal with the situations that you outline~items not as described for whatever reason, etc.

I don't know why the seller told you to escalate the case because that will give her a case closed without seller resolution defect, which is very serious.  Perhaps she really thinks that she is not responsible since she has no control over the carrier.  She is responsible for packing and for you receiving the item as described and intact.  I am not saying not to follow her instructions, or to advise her of this.  She may have her reasons for telling you to escalate.

As far as signature confirmation.  USPS will put a slip in your mail box, telling you that they could not deliver your item because of signature confirmation being required.  There should be a line for your signature on that.  You can sign and place the card back in your mailbox and USPS will take the card and deliver your item.  No trip to PO required.

Seller should have the fact that signature confirmation will be required in their listing, but they may not have realized they needed to state that until post sale.

Some sellers feel more confident in sending items under the $750.00 threshold with signature confirmation as they feel they are better protected; it is not wrong as it is at the seller's discretion.

Hope this helps.
