WARNING - fraudulent sellers on eBay B IG TIME!

I.ve been on ebay for 25 years.  500+ transactions - selling and buying.

But just a few days ago I got hit with a very bad scam on eBay.

I bought an item ($1000) and immediately it disappeared.  eBay showed on my buy history the item I supposedly had BOUGHT.  CLick on item - it is gone.  Click on seller he is gone.

So watch closely any seller who has _0_ listing history.

And is selling a pricey item for immediate BUY.

BE SO WARNED.

You have a money back guarantee. Just file a case "Not Received" whenever 1 day after the delivery date is. You might want to contact an Ebay agent about this as well.

Avoiding new or unproven sellers selling expensive items is a good idea.

Here is what eBay says about removed listings:

"What happens if I bought something from a seller who's been removed from eBay?

If you haven't paid for the item, you won't need to. The item should've been removed from your purchase history. We encourage you to look for a similar item from a different seller.

If you already paid for the item, please follow these steps:

1. Wait 10 days for the item to arrive.
2. If you haven't received it within 10 days, please let us know your item hasn't arrived.

If you receive your item, but want to return it, you can request a refund."

I thank you both very much for your helpful supportive advise.

What shocked./threw me was right after I bought and PAID

for the item -

and I got eBay typical email on my order -

When I clicked on the item it was THEN Gone

along with the buyer.

It just blew me away and why I responded immediately.

But ok..i.ll wait Ten days and hope paypal reverses this sizable charge against my account.

Just to respond to a point that I think you’re making in subtext, fraud has been a thing on eBay for the 25 years you’ve been using the site.  You’ve just been fortunate in avoiding it until now.

eBay has made lots of changes to how the site operates in an effort to combat fraudulent sales.  (Remember how sellers used to be able to accept checks, money orders, and even carefully concealed cash?  Remember how buyers and sellers could once communicate directly by email to each other?) The ones who aren’t so bright don’t realize that eBay puts a hold on new sellers’ payments, or they’re hoping that buyers won’t figure out how to get their money back when there’s a problem.  

Your seller didn’t delete their account.  eBay removed it, possibly because the seller’s tried something similar under a different ID.  Unfortunately, eBay’s timing was a little off, but at least you should be able to recover your funds in time.

Duplicitous dealers on EBAY. Wish I had read all the fraudulent warnings before buying on Ebay. We felt relatively safe because of the EBAY garuntee of your money back. Boy, were we wrong. First off Ebay customer complaints department is virtually non existent. They DO NOT have your back as the consumer which is ridiculous. I don't know how ebay contiues to exist quite honestly. I am through with purchases on Ebay and will direct all my future purchases to AMAZON. At least Amazon is extremely customer satisfaction based. They actually want your business. Not sure what has happened to ebay??? 

It is next to impossible to file a complaint or open a case with ebay once you have been "duped".

You claim item not received and get a refund on estimated date of delivery + 1 day.

Would I make a purchase for $1000. with a seller with no feedback history or not selling anything else or a new seller?...No...but that's just me.

impulse buying is not the way to go...I wouldn't blame eBay.

I would have thought 25 years of experience on eBay might have help.
