Using Amazon as a 3rd party for sellers ng

I don’t like that sellers use Amazon as 3rd party to sell and deliver.. The problem arises when the item needs to be returned and and seller wants you to go out of your way to take the item to an Amazon return center to receive a refund.. This is unfair to buyers that are ordering online for delivery.. If something is delivered then it should be able to be picked back up for return and refund.. This is why customers don’t buy from Amazon so they don’t have to deal with the hassle of driving or finding a way to get to a drop off center that is miles away.. If the seller purchased from Amazon then personally delivered from their location then the item could be returned to them directly instead of the customer having to do a return for a seller which is making them the customer have to do the sellers work.. I don’t like it at all, and find that their are many people on eBay doing this now and it is becoming a problem.. If I want to purchase through Amazon I would have done that.. This has been going on with a few of my purchases for the last year and makes me want to shop less with eBay cause I don’t know if they are using Amazon and then I will have to deal with a problem returning if there is an issue.. This seems very sneaky

Many Ebay sellers use Amazons fullfilment to store their items at Amazon and have them shipped from there.

Its a violation of eBay policy for a seller to list something they don't possess and when its sold go buy it off of Amazon, Costco, Walmart or wherever, and have it shipped directly to the buyer from Amazon.  The eBay seller remains responsible for the transaction not the Amazon seller.  You can report the seller to eBay and claim he "drop shipped" from Amazon.

All you need to do is use the return shipping label provided to return an item.

If the seller wants it taken to an Amazon return center, they can do it themself.

@sylligirl11-11,

If you receive an item that is not as described all you have to do is use the More Actions button in your purchase history.  The seller will have 3 days to reply by sending a return shipping label, you slap it on your package and send it back. If the seller tells you to take it to an amazon center, you use the ask ebay to step in link, they will authorize a refund and you can keep the item.

FYI, most sellers who use the Fulfilled By Amazon (FBA) system for their ebay sales which is legal, have feedback comments saying items came from amazon on their feedback profile page.  Just one reason why you should check each seller's feedback profile page, before buying from them.

Most definitely I looked at feed back and the people I purchased from had no indication that showed they used Amazon or I wouldn’t have used them.. But I have talked to eBay’s page design team to discuss about requiring seller to show exactly who delivers the items, so buyers can choose to deal with odd or unwanted delivery services.. If it doesn’t say usps, ups, or fedex I don’t want it.. Plus the Amazon products have always been jinky and not made well.. So now if the seller has weird names that look like they would use 3rd party I just don’t buy, cause I don’t want to buy something from someone that doesn’t have possession to know if they are selling a quality product.. Plus EBay guarantee has refunded me for having to deal with such nonsense..

I didn't think you could return it to Amazon.

 I am aware that many sellers ship from Amazon, but I didn't know that a few years ago.  I ordered a can of specialty coffee from an ebay seller.  I normally ordered it from Amazon, but for some reason, this time I wanted it from ebay.

So my ebay order arrives & to my surprise it came directly from Amazon!  The can was very badly dented and I didn't want to use it. Thinking i could avoid the middleman (ebay seller) I called Amazon to see if they would directly accept the return.  They found the order & tried to accommodate me,  but no matter how hard he tried, the cs rep could not get it to go through.  He told me I had to to return to ebay & so I did.

That's why I'm surprised to hear that your seller asked you to send it back to Amazon.  My seller had good feedback, but what I didn't notice was that she was in China!  I usually read listings carefully, but I was so happy to get the much needed coffee, that I missed it!  coffee   There doesn't seem to be any way to tell if it's Amazon.  Like you if I wanted it from Amazon, I would have ordered it from there.  It is starting to get confusing and frustrating!

@sylligirl11-11 I'm unsure why you would ever think YOU have to return an item to Amazon when you bought the item on eBay. It doesn't matter if your seller had it shipped from a Best Buy in Timbuktu or anywhere in this world... as long as you bought it from an eBay seller it always goes back to that eBay seller.

If the item wasn't as described you open a case stating that and the seller pays for the return shipping and refunds you when they get the item back. If they refuse to issue a label or pay for it, more often than not you keep the item and get your money back. If they do get the item back they can take it back to Amazon if they want to.

As a side note, only the person who has access to the purchaser's Amazon account can initiate a return... there is no way you could do that.
