Unable to Apply Spendable Funds at Checkout

I have been trying to apply Spendable Funds to a purchase; however, the funds are not showing up on the Check Out page.  I contacted Customer Service and spent an hour talking to 3 different reps without any resolution and was eventually cut off and did not receive a call back as promised.  There are sufficient Spendable Funds to cover the purchase. I have tried various platforms (PC, iPad & iPhone) and cleared the cookies and cache.  Items are not listed as not being eligible for applying Spendable Funds.  One CS rep told me it was because the Seller hadn't signed up for the Spendable Funds program.  (As a seller, I felt that was incorrect and asked to speak to a supervisor.  The supervisor was researching the problem when the call was disconnect.)  The only issue is that I can see is that the Seller is in Europe; however, nothing on any eBay webpage reflects that Spendable Funds cannot be used for foreign purchases. Would appreciate someone at eBay looking at the account and advising me why I can't use the funds.

Re: Unable to Apply Spendable Funds at Checkout

Applying Spendable Funds only works in the eBay mobile app.

If you select to apply them, you will see your payment method changes to include them and it recalculates any amount that will be charged to your additional payment method.

But it doesn't do this on the website.  You can click on the button to apply Spendable Funds, but it won't adjust the total.  So, it looks like they're going to charge you the full amount to your other payment method, and not apply and Spendable Funds.  And because there is no interim step where it shows you another screen with payment info... eBay just wants you to CONFIRM PURCHASE from the checkout screen... it feels like you're about to experience a mistake on eBay's part (shocker, I know) where they won't apply the Spendable Funds.

I've found eBay to consistently have processes working on one platform but not the other.  You can't sign up for Spendable Funds in the app because it needs to launch a separate window to confirm your bank details—a process which is impossible from inside an app (does eBay use interns for developers?).  So you can only sign up via the website.  But then you can only USE the program via the app, and NOT on the website.

So tired of eBay's sloppiness in service, while they continue to always get the rate hikes implemented with no issues.

Who came up with this dumb Spendable Funds program anyway?  Sounds like a summer project for another intern.  DAF.  They've done nothing but overcomplicate things since they split with PayPal.  eBay is becoming the Microsoft of retail.  Way too inside its own head, and way too greedy.

Re: Unable to Apply Spendable Funds at Checkout

You dont sign up for “Spendable Funds”, Ebay sends you a special and specific email in which you approve or reject the payment option.  I did not get the email until I had over 1000 sales.  Once you receive the invitation and approve it you have to set your payout option to “spendable fund” you will no longer receive daily or weekly, biweekly payouts so you can use the funds and whatever you dont want to spend you just transfer it on demand
