In the last few weeks, the post office is not scanning packages apparently. Sometimes no tracking until it's out for delivery...
I do like to be home on delivery day, too many porch pirates...

You may want to sign up for Informed Delivery on the USPS website. It takes a while to get it set up, but it usually gives you a heads up when a package is coming your way. I get an email every morning telling me whats showing up today, and if a package will be showing up in the next day or two.

Yeah, something strange is happening with the USPS' tracking. On my selling ID, I sold a Thing to a buyer across the country. I am in California, and the buyer is in a state on the Eastern Seaboard. Today is three full weeks since I mailed it. Tracking stopped at the post office where I dropped it off.
I opened a mail tracking case through USPS.com. I got a very courteous response from a USPS representative within a reasonable time but it was so vague I cannot take any real comfort from it -- nor can my buyer, for that matter. So, kinda useless.
As rebell45 said above, also, that USPS Informed Delivery system can be helpful. I am a little skittish about the USPS now, since the experience mentioned above. I sold another Thing to a buyer in the Midwest and signed up for Informed Delivery on that one. It should be delivered by next Wednesday.
Hoping the USPS tracking gets back -- well -- on track soon. Maybe after January 20, 2021?

First check your tracking on the USPS website, do not trust the Pitney Bowes based ebay tracking, it has been way off lately. I had info on that system saying Label Created 11/27, - Picked up 11/27, - Received by P.O. 11/27 ... USPS Awaits Package 11/29. Except for the Awaits package message the USPS site showed the same info but also had Received at regional center 11/29, but nothing since.
Using informed delivery is a great suggestion, but even that will not work if there are no scans. If Porch Piracy is common in your neighborhood, you should report that to the local police, and go to USPS Postal Inspector, scroll down to the report crimes button and tell them about the piracy in your area. Encourage your neighbors to do the same things. The squeaky wheel gets oiled.
One more thing you could do is to put package delivery on hold, then pick them up at the P.O. when you can. On the USPS tracking site you can schedule delivery for a date when you will be at home.
