The code cannot be applied to my order. Why?

I copied the code from the item list and pasted to the check out. It said "The code cannot be applied to my order." Why?

I asked the seller but they said I have to contact eBay customer support.

What did you order? Most coupons have some category restrictions. It's in the fine print.

Those coupons have conditions out the wazoo.  You have to go back and look that over and see what conditions you need to meet.  The last one I received required you to sign up for very risky mobile AP payments.  Others I got never were for the catagory  I was buying in.

Where did you get that code from? The 'coupon' that the seller is offering is for 5% off and is a complete different phrase.

It showed under the item name. "Check out now at $275..."

This problem happened all the time when there are something like this.

Have you already used that coupon?  It can only be used twice.  On what eBay site are you registered, and do you have an address in the US or Canada:
