Smartpost & Surepost

I wish eBay would make sellers,  disclose in the shipping details, if they ship using "Smartpost" or Surepost"  -  I absolutely deplore these two methods of shipping.  Product moves at a fast clip, until they reach the hand-off point to the postal service.  For me, it can sit literally a week or more in Dallas, before it finally moves on to my rural post office.  I hate that I can actually at times, receive product from China direct, faster than I can an item from within the USA.    May 1000 flies infest the armpits of whoever came up with the idea of "Smartpost" & "Surepost".   eBay - Make them disclose how the items will be shipped within the auctions with MORE DETAIL than just (economy shipping).  If the seller is using either of these two hand-off methods, I would never buy from them, if given the knowledge.

Smartpost & Surepost

@out-of-this-world-stuff,

"I hate that I can actually at times, receive product from China direct, faster than I can an item from within the USA".

The sellers using those services are usually Chinese sellers claming to be located in the U.S..  The items do come from China via Fed-ex Smart Post or UPS Sure Post, then are handed off to the USPS who give them low priority for shipping.

Smartpost & Surepost

My problem with Smartpost & Surepost is that sellers who ship by these methods won't accept P.O. Box addresses.  I can't get UPS or FedEx deliveries to my house in the winter months so I have to pass by these sellers because I do have a P.O. Box address.

I buy my bubble wrap on ebay from a seller who uses Smartpost and they accept my box address since it's being delivered to my post office anyway.  I just ordered shipping boxes from another seller who also uses Smartpost & accepts my address.  I wish more sellers who ship by these 2 methods would realize they are losing sales by not accepting  P.O. Box addresses.  I know the shipping takes longer and I'm willing to accept that but it's a real pain to spend time searching only to find that sellers won't ship to P.O. Boxes.  I have to keep looking until I find one that doesn't have P.O. Boxes excluded in their  listings.

BTW~~I have my physical address along with my P.O. box # as my "ship to" address.
