Shipping times

So how long does it take for a seller to ship an item. I purchased something on the 13th and supposedly it was in stock and still hasn’t shipped. I have messaged the seller twice a day. With no response. What should my next course of action be?

Re: Shipping times

Your next course of action should be as follows:  You saw an estimated delivery date in the listing when you made your purchase.

If your item has not arrived within a few days past that date, you can open an item not received case.

In the meantime, how about reading eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers? It's seen in every listing and it explains a buyer's options if/when a transaction goes wrong.

Re: Shipping times

1. Stop sending messages to the seller, since that clearly isn't helping. Some sellers just don't communicate, not even to send or register the tracking number even if the item has been shipped.

2. In your purchases, check on the estimated delivery date.

3.  Try to be patient.  If the item doesn't arrive by the latest estimated delivery date, then you can file a claim for 'Item not received."

4. While you're waiting, read the buyer protection policy, which eBay calls the "Money back guarantee."

Re: Shipping times

So far the seller has not done anything that violates ebay policy.

All you need to do is go by the estimated DELIVERY date given to you on your purchase.

It is only after that date has passed, without delivery, that you can file a claim against the seller.

Re: Shipping times

What was your seller’s handling time? Some sellers may have extended handling where the item is not posted within one day. That is the first thing to learn prior to contacting the seller. The next step is to find your estimated delivery date. Once that date is passed, you can open an Item Not Received case if the seller remains unresponsive. But it could be your seller is still within his stated time to ship. In the future, if you expect one-day shipping, best to select a seller who offers such a service.

Re: Shipping times

How precisely do you know that it hasn't been shipped?

As a seller yourself, you know that eBay doesn't require sellers to respond to questions from buyers.

Re: Shipping times

Yep. I picked up an item at the Post Office a few days ago. I just checked the tracking # at USPS, it still says "Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item". Never even received a delivery scan!

Alas!  with the current state of affairs with the USPS I wouldn't put much faith in their tracking accuracy.  I would advise following the MBG procedure and file an INR dispute after the last day of the estimated delivery period has passed.  I might even wait a couple of days longer.
