I bought several items from the same seller who mentions in all their listings that they combine shipping and urge buyers to multiple items from them to save on shipping. They are in Japan so the shipping is substantial for a single item.
I made the purchases Thursday night and requested an invoice to update the shipping costs but did not receive anything by Friday night. I then sent a message to the seller stating I wanted an updated shipping cost and I'll pay immediately when they send the invoice, but still nothing. Ebay has sent automated messages saying I have until Monday to pay or risk losing the items, and I'm guessing I could get a non-payment strike as a buyer.
I'm not sure if the seller is not responding because a combination of a delay and it being the weekend, or something else. What options do I have if I still don't get a response or an invoice by Monday? I have my doubts they would honor a shipping refund later if I were to pay the per-item shipping cost for each listing now with the way this is going.

Dang. You're between a hard place and a harder place. I'd weigh my desire for the items (at full price) against taking the UI strike, because those stay with you (only 1 of 2, though...) and might hinder your buying here forever. Remember that weekends won't count in the 4 days you have to pay... maybe you'll hear from your seller by Wednesday. Good luck.

I did both: "request invoice" from the cart Thursday, and when I didn't get an invoice, sent a message Friday. Still nothing as of Saturday.

There is no way to enforce what the seller has written about combining items. It is up to you if you want to pay extra for shipping or just not pay and take the minor hit. Next time just message the seller in advance of purchasing and if they don't respond, move onto another seller. Best of luck to you....

@namepl
Thanks for the reply. I have issues with the cart ever since they took away the "commit to buy and continue shopping with this seller." For me, it works for multiple AUCTION wins, but even then I get an error message "this seller does not combine shipping". Basically, that is NOT TRUE, since I have been that seller's customer for years.
For fixed price listings, for me it is hit or miss, but usually nothing but drama. It looks like you covered your bases since you could request from the cart AND sent a message.

"I bought several items from the same seller who mentions in all their listings that they combine shipping and urge buyers to multiple items from them to save on shipping".
If each those listings said something like "buy 1 pay $5 shipping, each additional item add $. 75, Even if each of the items are similar in size and weight, and have the same shipping cost you Pay the $5 for each individual listing you bought from.
"I made the purchases Thursday night and requested an invoice to update the shipping costs but did not receive anything by Friday night... I'm not sure if the seller is not responding because a combination of a delay and it being the weekend, or something else".
When you made the purchase on Thursday night it was already Friday in Japan, because they are on the other side of the international date line. The Japanese do enjoy their weekends just as we do. You may get a reply today 11/7. which is Monday in Japan. eBay bases all of its time on California time though.
It is possible the seller could refund some of the shipping, but they are not required to do that, and Yes you could get a non payment strike if you do not pay by Monday night.

FYI, don't know if this happened to you: but buyer bought an item from each of my 3 accounts and so I repacked everything to combine and send in one box. When I went to send invoice, ebay does not give me the option to enter size and weight of box in order to change shipping cost. It just sends invoice with no ability to change that information. Maybe your seller is having same problem.

Your issue is not the same one as the OPs. You should have started your own topic/discussion rather than piggy backing on to another one.
You can only change the shipping information for multiple items purchased from 1 account. It doesn't matter if your 3 accounts have the same address and payment information on them they are still separate when people buy from them.
All you can do is to combine the items into one box then ship it. Refund the buyer the difference after that. The problem you may run into is trying to add the tracking numbers to the items bought on the other two accounts. If it will not let you do that, then you have to worry about a false item Not Received claim being filed. Even if you message the buyer from the other accounts with the same tracking number ebay will not accept that as proof of delivery.
In looking at the items you have for sale on this account, you have things listed in several categories. If you dedicate this account to only selling Motorcycle and Automotive related items, and list your clothing and accessories on one of the others there is much less chance of people buying from the separate accounts, making your life easier.
