Seller is not answering messages or shipping item

I Placed an order on Saturday June 8th, which claimed to have 3 business day shipping. So, obviously, I was not expecting a response or shipping that Saturday.

 

However, on Monday the item never updated, still sitting as "Paid".

 

There is was sign the item will ship, no tracking number, nothing.

 

Fast forward to today, the third business day, and the seller still refuses to get back to me, send tracking, or even ship the order which is still sitting in limbo as paid.

 

The seller has positive feedback as a buyer, none as a seller. I should have checked before I made the purchase, that is on me.

 

 

What is my next course of action? I contacted Ebay Support who sent the seller an inquiry about shipping the item. Should I leave feedback and pursue a refund?

If you bought an item on Saturday and the seller has 3 days to ship then he has until Wednesday to ship your item. Business days do not include weekends or federal holidays.

 

edit: Sorry, I missed the part where you said he hadn’t shipped on Wednesday. Maybe wait until tomorrow and see if it’s shipped. It’s still Wednesday until 11:59 pm and maybe your seller is lucky and has a post office that stays open late. Or it just didn’t get scanned yet.

But today Is Wednesday, and I have no word from the seller or update to the package. As far as I know the seller hasn't even sent it yet.

What is the number (inside the parenthesis) of the seller? What is the item (or cost)

 

By the way- there was an estimated 'delivery' date- one day past you can open a case for not received and start the refund process. Not before and seller NOT shipping is no cause as sellers are NOT required to 'mark as ship' or use tracking.

Who is shipping it?

Some give a 8PM shipping oatend of the day. So you have to wait until tomorrow.

And maybe until the 14th to claim as item not received.

I wouldn't leave feedback at all...since you have only one feedback...every seller will read it and think do I want to ship to a buyer with one feedback who gave a negative feedback to a seller. Just a thought.

The number is (4), which I assume are his feedbacks. He only has buyer feedback, not seller feedback. The item itself is a laptop which I paid 700 dollars for. The pictures he had appear authentic, and the laptop itself appeared in good condition. The cost didn't seem too good to be true as there are comparable laptops at very similar prices (It was a laptop with an RTX 20 Series card and an Intel 10th Gen processor).

 

I have sent him some messages, but as of yet gotten no replies or updates. I'm worried he never will send the item and I'll have to wait to file an INR claim.

I have proof he isn't responding to my messages and he isn't shipping the item. Why should I just suffer through someone not shipping a valuable item I purchased from them and not give feedback if they don't ship it? That's ludicrous.

 

Edit: USPS Priority is the chosen shipping service. Shipping was 30 bucks or so.

A laptop...where most buyers are lately having problems with such sales.

After one day after "estimated date of delivery" open a claim.

The key was "3 business days shipping". 

Going on a limb but I think no laptop is coming...

So "seller has positive feedback as a buyer"...I know them well.

I get buyers or wanna-be sellers who buy my 2 buck stamps and leave feedback on day of sale before item arrives to show they have feedback. LOL.

**bleep**, I didn't realize it was a big problem on here. I bought a different one from here a while back and had no issues. I'll be sure to stick to larger sellers from now on. Hopefully it's just a lapse in communication and the laptop will be sent, the listing seemed real enough. Who goes through all the effort of setting up a listing and setting a price just to not send the item and get the money they would recieve refunded? Seems extremely counterintuitive.

Did you check to see if the seller had an extended handling time? Not the shipping estimate but how long the seller states it takes before they actually ship out the item.

Yes, I checked the listing to see if I was missing something but their handling time is listed as "will usually ship in Up to 3 business days after payment clears" and given I bought the laptop outright, the payment should have cleared as soon as the item was purchased, and day 3 would technically be today.

 

There is no mention of an extended time.

Not really...a seller needs a quick loan...there are some sellers who will pretend to sell something...get the buyer's money in 3 days...for me "express payouts"...next day...LOL...pay off what they needed...and cancel the sale and repay the buyer in so many days or refund the buyer. Easier than getting a loan quickly.

But it's usually big money.

Since it's a new seller, they probably just jumped into selling before they knew what they were doing.

New sellers can have their payments held for 30 days and when they find out, they don't want to ship the order.

Nothing you can do until a day after the estimated delivery date.

Sorry to say you are going to have to let this one play out. Some sellers suck at communication and there is still a chance it will be shipped out in the morning. (10% chance if i had to bet) Sorry if this deal falls through and ties up your funds. Never a good feeling. I would suggest (if you did not before hand) when making a large purchase on Ebay, message the seller to open a line of communication. How they respond or if the don't may give you a little insight on how they do business. Of course a scammer is going to scam so there is that.

That is just one reason why you should always check the feedback profile page of each seller you intend to buy from, and not go by their percentage alone.

As @kensgiftshop  , wrote your seller being new may not have read far enough into eBay's getting started info to find out about the payment hold, or they may have thought that as a member for awhile the hold would not be placed on their account.

On your account the payment is marked as completed. However, because of the hold the seller sees your payment status marked as Pending on their account.  Because of that they haven't shipped, and probably have not replied to your messages about shipping, thinking that you are trying to scam them some how.

 

If you want the computer, and not a refund, try messaging your seller again. Tell them if they have not shipped because your payment status is marked Pending, to do a Google search for "Payments on hold - ebay"  and when they do that to open the article with "export.ebay dot com" as its address. (you cannot post the .com portion of the address in messages)  If the seller does that, they will get the information they need to complete the transaction and get the funds released.

 Hopefully your buyer will look up the info and get back to you.  If they do not within a day or so, you will have to wait until the last estimated delivery date has passed before you can open an Item Not Received (INR) dispute.

 

FYI.  When you pay for items, sellers not experiencing the hold, do see the status as Completed on their account, right away.   However, the actual payment does not reach their Bank for 3-5 days, depending on when a payment was made and/or their bank's hold before they certify the deposit. Most banks will clear the deposit right away for sellers who have received several ACH transfers from ebay commerce, but may hold the payment as Pending, until it is certified for new or infrequent sellers.
