Seller asking to mark as delivery before I received the item

Purchased a digital item, and the listing says "shipped", yet the seller wants me to mark as delivered before I even received the item. The seller said I will not receive my item from them until I mark as delivered, I'm concerned about it being a scam and losing my money.

Sounds like a new seller trying to get his funds paid early. If you dont receive your item soon after the estimated delivery date, file an item not received case, if the seller doesnt respond, on the fourth day ask Ebay to step in. You will be refunded.

Until you have the item dont mark it received.

Sellers are not supposed to sell digital items and you could be setting yourself up to lose money.

As far as I know there is no way to mark an item as received or delivered.  Is this a new seller?

You have digital buyer protection on Paypal, not on Ebay.

Well yes you will get scammed which is why I would recommend telling this seller either send the item or cancel the transaction. If they don't cancel it wait til 1 day after the estimated delivery date and file a "not received" case. Don't mark it received.
