Today I received a package under my name that I didn't order, no one else in my family ordered either...No one in my family has anything to gain from ordering this. It's a PHONE CASE to a phone none of us own... I contacted the seller because I found out which seller it was on here, but he has not responded...
I find it really really weird and suspicious that someone would order something to our home under my name. I basically asked everyone I know and they all said no they didn't order it. How is this possible? Is this part of some kind of scam? i'm trying to contact the seller now and ask him who it was so I can try and figure out which user bought this. because this makes NO sense at all.

My wife received a fitbit in the mail today addressed to her name and our correct address.
We did not order it. None of our credit cards/paypals were charged.
What is this scam?
Keep checking your credit cards for a payment you didn't make.
Perhaps post logically instead? What would your own credit cards have to do with the flowers or cheesecake that arrived in your name and address?
You didn't think those gifts were a scam ... why not?

I actually received a package that I didn't order(not from ebay purchase). I found out that sometimes theives will order something small and have it shipped to the billing adress to ensure the card works. Then they go to town. Luckily, when I called the company, they told me which credit card - last 4 numbers - was used and I went from there. I called the cc company and canceled the card.

I think ALL of us, buyers or sellers need to be alert when signing on. Twice, I have seen my cart icon " lit" and upon checking it, there I was at the checkout point. Definitely items I would or could NEVER order. BTW, they were clothing items. I immediately exited but, I am now ever more alert. But how your item actually was paid for and mailed out is a mystery to me.
But scammers are everywhere, particularly at this time of the year. Even packages left on your porch or steps, needs to be reconsidered and arrangements for an optional site made.
STAY ALERT !

It's a test.
Change your passwords and maybe you emails on EBay, PayPal, Bank accounts and ANYTHING that shares that same password.

Common, especially if you buy anything at The River.

That's because eBay pressures sellers into shipping fast. Most "REAL" business's, have a settling time to make sure everything is on the up and up. The OP's issue sound like a kid, not a scammer, per se. Might a 75" Samsung show up some day, maybe, but it's the seller that is going to be PO'd. I would still change my passwords just in case.

I had the exact same thing happen today. It too is a phone case. I have not ordered. Mine is from a china address.

What actually happened to me was strange and pretty stupid. It was completely the sellers fault. Try to read all of this because it sounds strange .
I placed an order for a children's guitar on Amazon ( because it was super cheap), then I received a phone case one day through the mail, and I was like what the hell is this, I didn't order this? I didn't know the 2 things were connected, as in I didn't know I received the phone case because I ordered a guitar. so I got paranoid and overthought it thinking it was some sort of scam. The replies I originally got on this post didn't help either, they just made me paranoid. But like I said what really had happened was that the seller posted a phone case up for sale, but the picture that was used was actually of a guitar. I don't know how that mix up happened. But i've seen those sort of mix ups before online , where the description says one thing and the picture shows another.
So if you received something you didn't order in the mail, don't rush into conclusions. Ask your self if you or someone in your family ordered something, even if you ordered something different than from what you got. Sometimes these sellers mess up and send the wrong thing, or sometimes there's just a mix up in the address and you receive other peoples stuff.
If you recieved something and were charged for something you didn't order, then likely it is some sort of scam. I was charged once on Paypal for something I didn't order, I don't know how they managed to charge me but I called the company which was obviously a bunch of scammers, and they gave me my money back without a problem. but if there was a problem where they don't want to return your money, you can always let the bank know. and they'll return your money.
