Today I received a package under my name that I didn't order, no one else in my family ordered either...No one in my family has anything to gain from ordering this. It's a PHONE CASE to a phone none of us own... I contacted the seller because I found out which seller it was on here, but he has not responded...
I find it really really weird and suspicious that someone would order something to our home under my name. I basically asked everyone I know and they all said no they didn't order it. How is this possible? Is this part of some kind of scam? i'm trying to contact the seller now and ask him who it was so I can try and figure out which user bought this. because this makes NO sense at all.

Your name and address must be on the internet.
That tracking number showing "Delivered" to your zip code is a stand-in for a more expensive non-delivery nearby.

Have you checked your credit card statements? If you notice anything suspicious, contact your bank immediately and have them void your credit card asap. If you don't notice any unauthorized transactions, then it might be the sellers mistake or maybe some company gave you a free gift or sample. A few years ago, I started to receive ESPN the magazine & Spin magazine for a whole year. I checked my credit card statements and found no suspicious activity regarding the magazines. Never ordered the subscriptions for those magazines, so it must have been a "gift" from someone or a mistake. It was kind of strange to receive 2 free
magazine subscriptions though.

This happened to me once and the seller made a mistake. I got my item then someone else's a couple of days later because she handwrote labels and got confused. Have you ordered anything from this seller lately?
Consider scams yes, but there's a possibility it's innocent. Hanlon's Razor tells us "never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity."

Never ordered anything from this guy before, if I did it was probably years ago.. but I still doubt it. I haven't purchased any phone related items on ebay in a long long while, which is what this ebay seller only sells..
what's interesting is I found the exact case, from the exact city I got this from and the last one bought was on the 21st. I received it on the 26th, so it could be who ever ordered that last one was the one who sent it here. I just cant see his username

Have you looked at the seller's recent sales? Has he sold either what you received or something really pricey?
If he's sold what you received, wait for him to respond to you - as it is the weekend.
If he hasn't sold what you received but HAS sold something really price, tomorrow, phone eBay and ask to speak to someone in Trust and Safety and tell them what happened and that you suspect that the seller may have sent this cheaper item to you instead of a pricier item to someone at the same zipcode and to please investigate.

My sister-in-law came home from vacation recently and had a huge box of spark plugs waiting for her. She never ordered them, they were charged to her account. There were other sales the credit card company declined. It's odd that the one package was sent to her.
I would suggest calling your credit card company and getting a new card as it's highly possible yours was stolen. Also check your credit report out if you haven't recently for any odd activity if none of your cards that you are aware of have the purchase on it.
I hope you were not the victim of identity theft.
Good Luck!

Have you bought anything from any other sellers recently? In the vicinity of this seller?
If so, he may have more than one selling ID. He may have switched addresses when shipping.

Ok,well I figured out what it was.. it's so stupid , yet a relief at the same time that it isn't a scam...
I had actually ordered a child's acoustic guitar for my little brother a few days earlier from Amazon...and after tracking the status of that package I realized it had the same tracking number as this phone case... THE SELLER LISTED A PHONE CASE UNDER A GUITAR LISTING AND HE DIDN'T REALIZE IT...
Whatever dumb mistake he did I honestly don't care. I got a refund, and I won't be buying off him anymore. I'm relieved it's not part of a scam. I almost got scared there.. Thanks for the responses though

what does this mean? I don't follow?
My wife received a fitbit in the mail today addressed to her name and our correct address.
We did not order it. None of our credit cards/paypals were charged.
What is this scam?

Keep checking your credit cards for a payment you didn't make. Can you contact the person/company that sent it? Did either of you buy something that would prompt the seller to send you a gift? Also, start your own thread on this subject - this thread is very old.
