Purchased Item was Sold on another site

I won the auction, but my money was refunded because the seller sold the item on another site after I paid.  I sent him a message that that is not how things are supposed to work, that I won and paid.  I don't know how to file a report about this.

He will receive a seller cancellation ding, defect, strike...whatever you want to call it. IF they are in the habit of doing this eventually it will catch up to them.

I doubt ebay would do anything if you reported the seller.

Report the seller for failure to complete the transaction.

Go to help & contact

You can Contact eBay customer support with chat or request eBay to telephone you.

I'm sorry this happened. Seller will receive a mark for canceling a sold order. Enough of those and they may find their selling account suspended. This is very frowned upon by eBay, they will get theirs soon enough. Just be glad you didn't have to deal with this bad seller anymore. Go find your item with another good seller and put this behind you. Best of luck to you....

A seller is either an asset or a liability

And this is why you are not as a SELLER suppose to cross post listings unless you have a quantity of them, same item, condition, etc. I see this happen all the time. Sellers get frustrated and think one site is not showing their item so they decide to post it on 3 or more sites. Which ever sells first and for more money that is what they do.

I agree it is wrong.

Could have also decided to list on another site and maybe forgot they still had it listed on ebay? Who knows, but in any regards it is not right and this is why buyers think every seller is a scammer.

Just like on the seller boards for a few bad things buyers do and there are scammers on both sides (i am mostly a seller), many posts are about a buyer scamming them. I noticed that is most of the postings on the sellers board and buyers board. Unfortunately, there are alot of good sellers and a lot of good buyers, you just happened to get a **bleep** one this time. Sorry this happened to you.

Nothing you can do, report them and the seller will get a defect, after i think 3, they can't sell or are limited to selling or whatever. Same for buyers, when they don't pay they get a defect and after a few buyer can't buy anymore either.
