Purchase details not matching listing - original doesn't exist

I made a purchase on 12/24/2024 for a Sony PlayStation 2 Slim Launch Edition

Charcoal Black Console (SCPH-75001CB). The original listing was $99 + $8 shipping (no returns) and expected to ship within 2 days. Obviously they wouldn't be getting anything out on Christmas so it's reasonable that tracking details wouldn't be available for a couple of days. Now it's 12/28/2024 and I still see no tracking info, so I click on the item from my purchase history only to find that the original listing no longer exists, and instead is showing the exact same photos and item marked up 8x to over $740 by a completely different seller. When I try to find the original listing it's nonexistent apart from my purchase history, and the seller's page is blank only showing their picture and a counter of 2 items sold previously. Ebay says to wait until Jan 2 to report not receiving the item, but obviously Ebay or the seller removed the listing between my purchase date and today. I bought multiple items that day, and items from other sellers show "Sold" on the listing, or they have more of those items to sell because they're stores (I purchased games from a store selling individual copies of games on 1 listing - and those items I have tracking details for.) I'm thinking this was a scam since the new $740 listing seems to be from a legit seller with more listings on their page, and the original $99 listing is no where to be found from the first seller. Do I wait or ask Ebay for a refund? I really want this item and I'm willing to buy from a legit seller as I've already purchased other peripherals and games for this system.

I can't add pictures for some reasons but I have screenshots of my order details, the new listing, and both sellers. I also just noticed that the seller I bought from joined 12/23/2024 😮💨

That second link is not for a listing, it takes you to the product page for that item (playstation PS2). eBay has started doing this, depending on where you click on the link for the item. In some cases, if the item was linked to a product page, then it redirects you to another active listing for the same item. The pictures are different for the $749.99 item, but since it's the same product, the box it is in looks very much like the pictures on your listing.

This link will take you to the actual listing you purchased, It has a no-redirect code in the URL. At this point, there's nothing to get worried about. Wait and see for now, the seller is very new, and they need to figure out how to ship the items they sold.

This link will show you the two items that seller sold that day. I was able to open the listing from this page, but I added the no redirect code to the link above to make it easy for you to reach it.

eBay is doing that now. Showing a similar. You have to dig in and find your own purchase.

Re: Purchase details not matching listing - original doesn't exist

Thank you for the information. When I click the link you shared, it takes me to the other listing from seller storeofmp, which is the $700+ listing. I legit cannot find the my actual purchase outside of my order details page. Every other item I've purchased in the last 72 hours takes me to the original listing and shows SOLD at the top. I'm viewing these details by navigating to Purchases >  clicking item > More actions > view all details > redirected to different listing. Is that normal behavior? And why can't I see it as sold from my end? I'm not completely new to buying in Ebay, but it has been maybe a year since I purchased anything, so please excuse my ignorance.

Re: Purchase details not matching listing - original doesn't exist

Thank you for the information. Where else should I dig for my purchase info? I clicked on my profile > Purchases > clickes this order > More actions > view all details and this is where it redirects me to the other seller. I tried searching for the seller I purchased from and that yields nothing since they have no other listings, and there are several listings with similar titles and pictures of the OEM PS2 slim box. I can't get the full description of the original I bought because I can't see it and did not get a screenshot.

Okay thank you very much. I'm on my phone so maybe that's why I can't find this?

Re: Purchase details not matching listing - original doesn't exist

Lots of people are having trouble with this redirecting. You're not the only one. It only happens with items that are linked to an eBay product page, so it doesn't affect lots of listings.

Yes, the app does work differently, and I never used it for that reason. That could be why you couldn't find the seller's ended/sold listings.

FYI, your seller didn't type in any description, they just used the pre-filled information from the eBay product page. For that price, it may turn out to be used in the original box, rather than really being "open box" which is supposed to be new in an unsealed box.

No worries you were very helpful! Someone else shared that URL as well and I was able to see it the 2nd time.

Re: Purchase details not matching listing - original doesn't exist

I deleted/revised my post because after looking at it again, I saw that it redirected to a different listing without the option to click on the sold item.

What's strange is that the first time I clicked on the seller's sold item, it did bring me to the item that the OP purchased. But upon refreshing the page, searching by item number and also pasting the URL into a different browser, I can't get the listing to come up.

Ebay's "fixes" aren't helpful!

But here's what I saw the first time:

I'm unable to view the page this way again!

Re: Purchase details not matching listing - original doesn't exist

Yeah I waa getting stuck in that exact same loop and it was frustrating the hell out of me. I'm using the browser on my phone which is the normal way I use ebay. I don't think I have the app installed. The links shared by Lacemaker show what you you have here, apparently with the redirect link removed. Hopefully no issues for the seller, I just wasn't sure what was going on since every other purchase I made was not being redirected to someone else/the product page.
