Profanity

Why is this feedback considered to be profanity?  "Thank you. Pen is prettier in person. Well packed. Quick ship. A+++++"  And no, it was not "well packed".

That's a classic!

The bots that look for naughty words have been instructed to ignore spaces and punctuation.

Thank you. Pen is prettier...

Bots aren't real people.  They have been programmed to see FB as one long sentence with no spaces.

This is an example of what happens in that case.  Another one that sometimes gets ticked is "Wish it were larger, blacker, smaller, prettier".

Ebay has an issue with pen is, see what it looks like  if the space is left out between those two words.....

Indeed. I see the OP has now gone with a slightly less alarming feedback comment. 😁

One might also point out that that word for an item of the male anatomy is not profanity at all.

Since it's eBay site, eBay gets to decide what's profanity and what isn't.

While I would certainly agree that eBay gets to decide what words they want to filter, that does not make it a profanity. It simply isn't.

Indeed, eBay should be using some term other than "profanity" to describe the terms that they exclude from feedback.

Can you spot the naughty word in this one?

Makes my basement look so nice.

@nobody*s_perfect ...Nooo I can't..I've read it back and forth..Wahhh...Now I'm pretty smart about a lot of things and been know to be a Little naughty too, but I don't see it??? But reading this thread did teach me something today, was leaving a +FB and started to reply.."I am really glad it was original rubber and not hard"....I stopped and changed it!!

That one stumped everybody on a whole thread a couple of years ago until finally the poster's wife spotted the problem ... Hint: It's in the longest word and it's related to the word in the OP's issue.

@greg2mar,

eBay's overly PC "profanity"check ran the first two words of your comment together. It does not recognize spaces between words. I almost choked on my coffee when I saw the first sentence read that way.
