Why is this feedback considered to be profanity? "Thank you. Pen is prettier in person. Well packed. Quick ship. A+++++" And no, it was not "well packed".

Pretty sure I was not saying it was profanity, but was trying to explain the way eBay works in regard to this issue.

Well, a regular person like myself and being from the south and all, would probably see a compliment in there somewhere and be happy you thought enough of the purchase to leave feedback.

However, in an age of political correctness, you are always dealing with how comments, statements and feedback is perceived in someone's mind.

Most likely, your buyer perceived "profanity" in your feedback and complained to eBay. I generally, give no feedback or bland feedback.

That's not what happened. This is not a case of a feedback comment that was posted and then removed. eBay blocked the OP from leaving feedback because the bots detected a pattern of letters which matched a "forbidden words" list that had been put together by eBay (or maybe by the board host, Khoros).

When this company (then known as Lithium) first took over the management of the eBay discussion boards, the eBay employee in charge of Community had to specially request that they remove the popular abbreviation for "New In Package" from the list of banned terms. Probably nobody under 70 remembers this as an insulting term for Japanese people.

The term "Nip," derived from Nippon (the Japanese name for their nation) was used as a derogatory term during and after WWII.

So members would be blocked from leaving comments like "I sold an item that was NIP and the buyer returned it used." I wonder if eBay has adopted Lithium/Kohors' overenthusiastic list of banned ("profane") words.
