Long story short - seller sent wrong item, I opened a return, he accepted and sent a return label in a pdf. I go to print the label, and only the packing list will print, not the label. It simply does not print. Any suggestions?

It's not a mistake. That's an address label. Your seller doesn't want to pay for return shipping. Send private message with your name, email, and zip code to eBay at Facebook or Twitter and show CS that return label PDF.

If seller sent the wrong item, s/he is responsible for paying return shipping. Did you print the label from the Returns Request? Try downloading and installing the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader and make it the default for reading PDF files (instead of the browser's PDF reader). Now try printing that label again.

@myboardid, when you open the pdf file, can you see the label itself? Is it in the file, and is it clear and legible?
There are some workarounds to be able to print it, as long as the label itself is there.

Yes, the label is there, very clear. I have already decided to keep what I got because eventually I can use it, and I ordered the two missing items from someone else.

If your seller provided the actual PDF return label, not eBay, check if printing is disabled, @myboardid.

OK, if you're going to keep it, then you won't need to print the return label. I'm glad you've been able to resolve this.

ma-647837 - when I go to "document properties", it is entirely different than the one you show and doesn't have any of the same options. There aren't any tabs at all.

@myboardid, I had to poke around a bit to find that, and it looks a bit different for me as well. It might depend on what version pdf reader you have, operating system, what properties are set on the file, etc.
I was able to get to that window by opening a pdf document, then clicking on File (top left corner) > Properties. I tried it with a return shipping label I got from eBay a few weeks ago. Mine said "Printing: Allowed", but the "More Details" button is grayed out so I can't see the overlay window with the details. Probably because this labael doesn't have any security set.

I am having the same problem. There are 2 pages to the file according to the label screen: the label and the packing slip. No matter if I print it directly or save to PDF the only thing that will print is the packing slip. I even tried a screen shot but the print quality was so low. Frustrating and there is no longer and Ebay Customer service to contact.

I am having the same problem. Two pages: label and packing slip. No matter what I do only the packing slip will print, The PDF file doesn't even show the label. I even tried a screen shot but the resolution is not good enough for mailing. I'm so frustrated. It's insane that you cannot contact anyone at Ebay anymore.
I do not want this item as seller sent the wrong thing. I appreciate he was willing to pay return shipping but what good is that if I can't print the label? Looks like I'll be out the postage anyway.

Who created the PDF -- was it the seller, or eBay?

I just opened a eBayReturnLabel_5XXXXXXXXX.pdf in two PDF apps.
One copyright 2004 showed no restrictions in the Security tab.
Adobe Reader 9 copyright 2010 had five "Not Allowed" on the same PDF file.
So find a really old PDF app which does not respect any of the security restrictions.

I don't know if this will work, try emailing it to you, your email account. I have to do this b/c my printer is broke. When they send you a return there should be a place to print or to email.
