Pics are not always part of the description.

Hello,

I’ve noticed a trend in the last few years,

members use the statement (pics are part of the description),

not always. What if you can’t see well?  What if the pics are bad? Hard to see cracks or imperfections.I really like when you ask questions and members say ( see pics) lol

Another fine trend,

AI.
AI doesn’t actually describe said item. Very generic. I’m sure using AI has led to an abundance of negatives or neutral feedbacks.

or, if asking questions your responded with ( see pics or not sure)

and just so everyone knows, if a description mentions (untested) that means it doesn’t work)

Hi @mercyfulfate1777

Regardless of what is said, any flaws in the item must be mentioned with words … not just shown in photos.  Buyers can’t be expected to distinguish flaws in photography from flaws in the item.

@mercyfulfate1777,

Usually, when you see a listing with fuzzy photos and few of them, and a description for a new item (AI generated), especially if it is a used item,  the seller is new or inexperienced. If they will not add photos or answer questions, just move on.  Especially, if the seller also has a No Returns policy.   If the seller is brand new, chances are there will be other issues with the transaction you may not want to take the time to deal with.

As a buyer, I feel the same way.  Especially, when the pics appear to be taken from six feet away in a closet with the lights out.....LOL.  Any of these will reflexively trigger the back button:

Good used condition

good vintage condition

good condition for its age

EUC

see pics for condition

etc.

Pics are not always part of the description.

Such sellers can expect a not as described return.  Given buyers win almost every time, those can get expensive.

what your not understanding is not taking time to write out long descriptions almost has no effect on the sell rate. If you want to ask questions and have conversations with your sellers you are more than welcome to attempt that but some sellers don't care if you personally are the one to buy it or not so they would rather not spend time on satisfying your need to know what others aren't concerned with. but you are the buyer so you have the final say on the transactions and who you want to buy from.

lots of sellers have no clue about what they are selling it's often better to use a niched out seller for a lot of items because they do know what they are selling.

I am leery of those listings as well. Sometimes I politely ask seller for more pictures due to me not being able to discern condition of said item.

Sometimes I get a positive response and do get more and better pictures and/or an actual description.

Other times I get an unsatisfactory response and just pass on that listing.

AI just tells me the seller either doesn't know what they are selling or doesn't care much about the listing.

I saw one that said something to the effect..."reflects the majesty of marine life"....It was a warthog tusk...LOL An animal known for being able to survive in arid conditions. Obviously the seller didn't have a clue, only that it was a tusk. The price wasn't bad though as I recall.
