I am trying to leave positive Feedback for a purchase I just received. However, I am unable to post unless I also rate the product. The item purchased is for personal care that should "show results in 30 days". Thus, I am at present unable to rate the product. It is not fair to punish the Seller by blocking my feedback.
Is there a work-around?

Unfortunately there is not a way to get past the required product review star rating. 🙁

This is very short-sighted on the part of eBay. I hope this new "feature" gets deleted soon. Thanks so much for your response.

you have 60 days to leave feedback
When can I leave feedback? You can leave feedback for up to 60 days from the date you received your item or from the expected delivery date, whichever comes first. If no expected delivery date is provided, you have up to 90 days from when you completed your purchase to leave feedback for the seller. You must have had your account for at least 5 days to be able to leave feedback.07-25-2024 09:21 PM
I appreciate the information. Thank you. This makes me feel a little better because I should know whether or not the product is performing within 60 days. However, I know that many seller like quick feedback to let them know the product has arrived safely. Guess I've got some new tricks to learn. Thanks again.

eBay has not said why rating the item is compulsory when the product review appears. It does seem sort of stupid to be required to do that for a book you have not read yet, etc.
Can't even rate a seller for something that hasn't even arrived, unless you provide a review of the item you never got. Perhaps that is the key to the reason??? Seller can't get a red donut unless you lie and pick a star for the product.

EB,after all these years hasn't figured out their ratings system. While the other sites from AMZ to Merc have no problem.

Don't tell a Lie. Don't guess
You must wait & not leave feedback until you are able to honestly rate the product .

The buyer can do whatever they wish.
I would not waste my time trying to remember to leave future feedback if I am busy.

I don't know, perhaps It may work for ebay, being aware that the appearance of red donuts doesn't foster buyer confidence & trust & ebay should be doing a great job to deter & punish inappropriate user behavior.
With rate the product being compulsory in order to leave transaction feedback.
My position is user honesty is still the best policy, if & when you can't honestly rate a product, refrain from leaving feedback.

Where else ...
What other selling venues make rating products MANDATORY?
It's ridiculous!
Adding the ability to rate products is a fine idea, however,
it should be its own thing. It shouldn't be a part of the feedback system where
the goal is to rate the transaction... the buyer & seller experience. Convoluting the
two makes no sense.
