Long time eBay user here but my first post/message. I am very conservative about leaving negative feedback and in over 23 years, I've left maybe 3-4. I have never checked to make sure my negative feedback remained, until now. Is there a reason why my negative feedback (about a week old) is not showing up for this seller? It is very important that we all can share our experiences - both good and bad. And if someone is selling counterfeit items it is vital that buyers are aware of it.

Sorry but feedback is neither mandatory nor guaranteed either way. There are policies to follow and since no one here can see what you wrote we cannot tell you the actual reason why it was removed. It is supposed to be about the buyer's experience with the seller only. References to shipping, warranties, product containers, etc will get removed. If you wrote any 'warnings' to others that will get your feedback removed. It is about your own experience and not to be used to warn others. Caveat emptor applies to any online purchases. Best of luck to you....

If someone is selling counterfeit items, have you made eBay aware of it?
Did you open an item not as described case?

In the past I've let ebay know about counterfeit items and never seen them remove one. The most recent one is still listed, probably because everyone else knows it's fake. But as always someone will buy it eventually.

Thanks for your reply. I guess you can't mention the word counterfeit in your feedback. That is the only descriptive word I used and of course, every word was about my experience with the seller, their item and their lack of communication.... It makes sense now that I think about it, as it covers eBay's you-know-what by making sure there are no references for this practice occurring on their platform. That tells me all I need to know.

Thank you, @campanaelia and I'm glad I am not alone. I quit reporting them because it's a complete waste of my time. The last instance was reported to Ebay and when they did nothing, I reported it to Warner Brothers.

Did your feedback refer to having to opening a dispute with ebay?

@albertabrightalberta The only mention was that due to no response, I've had to wait for Ebay to intervene.

That's why it was removed. You can't mention ebay resolution, intervention, investigation, etc.
Had you just said something to the effect of, "disappointed with counterfeit item" it would have stood.

I have read on this board that only the manufacturer can declare his item as counterfeit. The buyer is welcome to use the phrase "doesn't seem authentic" in feedback and NAD claims.

I see a negative feedback that you have left over 30 days ago, within the past 6 months.

@lady_madonna yes, that was the last time I went through this and why I will no longer report counterfeit items. I wasted a lot of time trying to do the right thing to help prevent others from buying this person's counterfeit blurays. Sadly though, their auction remained open/up for months after I reported it to eBay and WB. The seller ended up selling all of their copies that were offered 😞 Sad, sad days.

EBay has never removed listings based on member reports or feedback. Never. They have no way of knowing if a report is true, and they have no way of hiring experts in every single item they sell. There are two ways to successfully deal with counterfeits: the slower way is to open a 'not as described' return. If a seller racks up too many of those, eBay takes notice. The potentially much faster way is to report the listing to the manufacturer or rights holder. If that entity is a member of eBay's VERO program all they have to do is tell eBay to take it down and it will vanish.

I once got a neutral because the buyer thought shipping was too high and ebay would not remove it.
Does what you say only apply to negative FB?...but not neutrals?

Ebay removes neutrals too. They removed mine from a seller that deserved a neg. I left a neutral because ebay has been removing every neg I've left for the past 3 years aprox. It doesn't matter what your feedback says, I always stuck to the facts, never mentioned disputes, counterfeits, used feedback extorsion or whatever excuse they try to make up. They were also not TRS sellers. I contacted ebay every time and they also agreed there was no reason.
I now rarely leave pos. feedback to level the field. The system is broke, the same way sellers feel that buyers feedback is useless, sellers are too. Buyers don't want to hear about what ebay is doing behind closed doors. Buyers should be able to have their own gratification towards a bad seller. Seller feedback is no longer a true representation of a sellers reputation and there's no longer a way to vet sellers.
The best part is since sellers negs are being removed, and buyers unwittingly purchase from these bad sellers. When a buyer is forced to open too many disputes, ebay uses percentages, ebay send the a message accusing the buyers of being abusive.
