I've noticed in the last couple weeks I've no longer had to enter a six digit verification number when sending question messages to sellers. Does anyone have any info about this change/update?

You may not have to enter a 6 digit (Captcha) depending on what reason you select when contacting a seller or what method you use to message the seller. If you contact the directly from a listing and select most options except "other", no captcha is needed. If you do not contact a seller from a listing and select 'not about an item" then you will likely have to fill in the numbers.

Thank you, I couldn't come up with a pattern. It comes and goes.

pburn: I mean, specifically, the link from the listing; not purchase history.
mudshark61369: It doesn't seem to make a difference which reason I choose, none require a Captcha anymore. At least some used to.
I collect books and so am regularly messaging sellers to ask for details. Over the last few years I've enterered, I'm sure, thousands of Captchas on eBay, so this is a very noticable change for me. There is also an 'Add photos' area beneath the message box that is relatively new.
