"Pay by Jun 9 so you don't lose the item(s)" Item ended June 5.

I don't know WTH is going on with Ebay lately but this takes the cake! A seller I have dealt with for years has always had 14 day combined shipping out of Thailand. Lately this note has been coming up when I can actually VIEW my purchase history, that's along with the message "Pay Now" that you get after 1 DAY of auction end. What is the point of the harassment? The messages were bad enough but this really has gone too far.

Sellers want paying fast, ebay wants paying fast.

They don't care if you have some special deal going on in Thailand, most buyers don't have that.

I've paid for every purchase within minutes ever since I joined ebay.

No need to feel "special" here.  eBay sends that same annoying message to everyone (over and over in case you missed it the first ten times, LOL)   They recently changed the "Unpaid Item Dispute" procedure for non-paying buyers.  Instead of the UID, the seller simply has to "cancel the sale" on day five without waiting additional days to close the case and relist.  Thus the warning "so you don't lose the item"....

@gemgal2012,

The previous reply by @ittybitnot  is essentially correct. However, if you and a particular seller have an arrangement, the seller would be the one who has to cancel or file an Unpaid Item Dispute (UID).   eBay cannot be aware of what special arrangements buyers and sellers who deal with each other regularly, make between themselves, so don't take it personally.  Think of it as more of a suggestion rather than harassment.

As others stated this is because of ebays new way of cancelling a transaction.  Unpaid item is no longer a thing it's just cancellations now.  If a buyer doesn't pay within four days a seller can cancel and it's over.  It's just a warning that this is possible.

I don't understand why BIN does not default to immediate payment. If eBay is trying emulate other sites, why even have a delayed payment method for certain types of transactions. The same would be true for accepted offers. You accept, You Pay. Does Amazon, walmart, of bestbuy have an I'll pay in three days options???

Auctions are different. I know sometimes I leave a bid and don't check back for a while after it's over.  Payment for my auction sales come in within 24 hours about 95% of the time. Usually 48 hours tops, which I am fine with.

Most buy it now does already do this.  eBay years ago started a "it's not yours until you pay".  However it does allow purchasing without paying if it is for multiple items the you put in a cart and "request combined shipping".

WalMart amazon and best buy don't have offers.  Making immediate payment required on that is a bit more complicated.

I don't have anything special going on with Thailand. I buy a lot of gemstones. You wanna pay shipping for every single piece that is your prerogative.

That stated it's a sad state of affairs that the sellers terms are clearly stated in their listings, 14 day combined shipping, that Ebay can't possibly come up with an algorithm to prevent harassment of buyers who pay in a timely manner. Let's just say everyone is a dead beat non-paying **bleep**. Great customer service attitude.

Sad. We do have technology that can determine a sellers terms on his listings. That's just a cheap cop out by ebay once again. Blame the entire community for being non paying dead beats instead of trying to do it without alienating.

This is the sellers terms in listing for auction items. Why would I pay immediately for one piece when I can combine 15 pieces have shipped all at once for $18.85 from Thailand? If I paid every time it would $74.95. I appreciate the responses from folks who buy very few items. I however spend a lot of money on Ebay and think technology is a little more advanced than this **bleep** they are feeding you with numerous requests to PAY NOW **bleep**.

Alas!  Cash flow is important to all businesses so it isn't unusual for them to become a bit aggressive in their efforts to collect what is owed them.  I really don't see where it qualifies as harassment. Provided the seller hasn't set up the automatic opening of a UID in their preferences it shouldn't really matter much.
